If you have three backs running you have no running game.

Big mistake. If Conner can really play then you run him. Sure you give him a break. But YOU CANNOT DO WHAT THEY DID TONIGHT. You were getting an identity behind Snell. If Conner cant run 25 times a game then go with Snell. But do not do this.

I disagree with how they handled it tonight, but I can totally tell you why

Connor is their best back, last time they dressed him he barely played then reinjured himself... they were gonna dress him but had to have a backup plan

Snell is their second best runner, there was zero chance they were not dressing him... he isn’t a pass catcher though, and isn’t the best at pass blocking

Samuels is the best pass catcher, but he is more of a third down back...

Whyte is their fastest back and new KO return guy...

Trey Edmunds should not have dressed, but the NFL wanted the three brothers storyline....

In any case the Steelers O telegraphs what they want to do by their players and formation... it’s stupid... they put Whyte in and everyone in the stadium knew it was going to the edge

They put snell in with a power set...it was always gonna be a run up the middle

This might matter if we ran the ball.
But that is chicken and egg. They probably started to feel they couldn't run the ball. Conner had a 5 yards per carry average. Everyone else pretty much did **** all. But if Conner cannot really handle the volume of Carries sorry, then he gets two Carrie's a game. You need one guy to get 20 or 25 Carrie's. This will not work what they did last night. One guy has to be in the flow.

We quit on the run last night. We also had pass protection issues with RBs failing to pick up blitzers. Some of that was Conner picking up the wrong guy. They have a lot of tape to watch this week to get this **** corrected.

Connor is good when there is a big hole to run through like his two big runs. Snell gets those tough 3-4 yards when there isn't much there but he falls forward. White has the homerun hitting speed. No way should Connor be getting every carry out there.

We threw it 38 times. Which is about 18 times more than we should have. Duck cannot handle that kind of load. While his story has been great, he is what he is; a backup QB that can manage a game but not win it on his arm alone. They put the onus on him last night and he just wasn't up to the task. Not from a lack of effort, but from a lack of arm talent.

It doesn't matter if we have 1, 3, 17 running backs, if we're not going to run the ball. Conner looked fresh, 5.2 ypc and we ran him 8 times, Snell had what 1 carry?

I'm not hearing much of that coach of the year talk.

I put a lot of it on the oline. Couldn't help but notice the difference between the two teams. The Bills were consistently getting great push at the line of scrimmage and their backs were always falling forward for at least 4-5 yards. Except for a couple of nice runs by Connor our line was getting almost not push at the LOS and our backs were getting stuffed all night. Our oline has underperformed all year if you ask me - overrated and overpaid.

He had 2 carries for 32 yards. Then 6 other carries for 1.6 yards. I just don't think Conner is good enough to get every carry, Snell gets the tough yards and usually falls forward for that extra yard or two. I still think White needs to see more carries with that break away speed. This OL just can't run block for **** vs a good defense though.

I don't think Conner is a full time starter, but it was that kind of game, the Bills didn't mind running the ball 38 times. Snell should've gotten more touches, as well as White.

Typical Tomlin. I knew Benny would be abandoned in this game. First and Goal from the five I would have expected to see Benny in there.
COTY! My vote is between John Harbaugh and the SF Coach Shanahan.
Tomlin is overrated and always has been. They will go 8-8 or maybe 9-7 having played a weak schedule. The only team they beat with winning record was the Rams.

IIRC, the Steelers used a different running back each drive to start the game. They ran different guys just for the sake of running them.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Edmunds convert to more of a fullback role- but I don’t think Fichtner is that imaginative
