If the draft was today

^^^^Yeah, I hear ya. That's part of the reason he is reasonably affordable too though. He has a better than average catch/target rating and is a decent blocker unlike our current back-ups.

He has averaged 50 catches per year or so which is more than ALL of our back-ups career catches combined too.

Not suggesting he is Heath's ultimate replacement BUT if Heath went down...he would be better than all we have or could reasonably expect to get from the draft, IMO.

Devin Funchess. 6'5 230. He's a TE/WR tweener. This year he looks a bit slimmer and is playing WR. He's like Plax with better hands and would be perfect alongside Antonio.

Dri Archer, first round.

Here's the pass rusher.

Randy Gregory 6'6 240 Nebraska - he plays DE but clearly is athletic enough for OLB. He will probably shoot up draft boards. He wore 44 last year but this year he just wears 4.

I love Gregory but he will be a top 5 pick (i hope we aren't that bad at season's end) and I like Funchess in bunches too but I like Strong better as they are comparable in weight now and Strong is quite a bit more athletic with lots of production to go with it, IMO.

I really haven't looked too hard at the draft OTHER than to see the immediate needs at ROLB, CB and T are thin enough that we won't likely get one and we need to do some FA magic if we are to make a push before Ben gets too old to be a factor.

He looks good, hopefully we can pick up him or a fantastic left tackle. We may be picking high enough to get him. Right now we need to draft a future left tackle, a future quarterback, and a great OLB and cornerback. I think left tackle and quarterback are only going to be available early in the first round. Olb and corner could be available in the second. We are not likely to have any more championship runs with what we have on the team now, we have too many high picks that are not that good. The over the hill gang will likely be gone next year and we have even less talent behind them. The needle is not pointing up as they say.

This is the dream pick for me. Don't think he will be around when we pick but could be a trade-up possibility.

We need a starter-level CB as well.

Looks like a weak draft IMO outside of LT.

This is one of those flood-the-market drafts IMO. BPA with your first pick, then throw a handful of darts at two important positions elsewhere. Like the Pack did with WRs this year; they knew they had contract issues upcoming with their current guys, so they took 3 they liked and evaluated from there. I'd love to snag 3 promising rushers or CBs and look at all of the options.
