This Defense has many problems......

Need a ball hawking Free Safety in the Draft or Free Agency

Need to replace Bud Durpree at LOLB......he sucks! 31 Tackles this season is a joke!

They also need a BIG *** NT in the middle in they are going to continue to play a 3-4 Defense!

You know what else. Most of those formers players were so tough and proud that not only would their play be such a difference but they would never allow their teammates to play like that. Greg Lloyd would have ***** slapped Buddy Dupree today just to get his *** to do something. No leadership at all on defense.

I think we all had such hope when Butler took over, but instead we got more of the same. Time to scrap the 3-4 and Butler.
 
Fact is those guys in the past would have to change their play to play in todays game. Did everyone see Mitchell over run that one pass where Haden knocked it away at the last second. The old Mitchel would have leveled the WR and most likely drew a penalty. The new Mitchell over runs it and does nothing. I was glad he didn't hit the WR but upset he didn't anything. Oh well.
 
A great coach can mold the players they have into a scheme rather than try to force players into their scheme.

That worked great for Cowher when he started but for the past 25 years it's seemed like we had to have a 3-4 no matter how cold it got in hell.

Sadly, we hardly ever run the 3-4, we run that ridiculous 2-4 with our 2 OLB serving as DE. Makes no sense at all
 
The defense lost is mean mojo after a few things. Not replacing the aging stars with the same quality and the ******* rules of engagement. It just took all of the smash out of them. They've yet to adjust. They seriously need tackling 101 in the off season,training camp and through pre season. They don't tackle worth a **** collectively. So they're either soft in doing it or ignorant in how to

And that's why we need new coaches on offense and defense. The **** we run is an epic ******* failure.
 
Four down lineman on known passing downs would be a start. Just so tired of seeing Butler run in and get swallowed up by the OL.
 
I just hope something changes sooner or later....HC,OC,DC I don't care I just need something to get me out of this funk of not believing this team has a LEGITIMATE chance. Seems like the last 6-8 years we have just watched waiting for failure.

Sometimes I think this middle of the road BS is worse than missing the playoffs altogether.
 
They have some good players. The only real star will hopefully walk again but thats it. All sweedish no finnish.
