Something has to be done with pass interference, Chicago on their drive on 3rd down had their wr completely mugged, had his arm held and pulled couldn't even use it to attempt to catch it. No call, Bears punt.
GB has the ball, Rodgers throws a ****** pass, wr tries to adjust, Bears DB puts his arm up between the GB wr's arms, without touching, may have brushed his arm, but did nothing to slow the wr down or alter anything, pass interference on Chicago, GB gets 30 yards just like that.

Its tough to fix unless you make PI and holding rewieable. If the DB is beat off line in 3rd and long the could just grab the WR preventing a huge play or TD. Same thing goes for PI. Making it rewieable would slow the game down, but some PIs and defensive holding are game changing.

College just has a 15 yard penalty but that's a different situation. In college you often have teams that completely outclass their opponents athletically, so making PI just 15 yards is a bit of an equalizer.

In the NFL, i think the solution is 2 different levels of penalty like they used to have for facemask penalty and they still have Running into vs Roughing the kicker. They need to come up with 2 different PI calls. One is the spot foul for the egregious PI where you blatanly grab a guy. The other is maybe just 5 yards and repeat the down for when there is minor contact.

One thing I hate about the PI calls now is that they seem to no longer even require that the WR make a play for the ball. So many times we see the WR get touched and quit on the route and ask for a flag and get it while the ball lands 5 yards away. How about, if you didn't get a hand on the ball, there's no PI unless the DB tackled you.

Agreed, kind of what happened, Bears wr is mugged, no call, GB wr isn't touched they call it when nothing happened, GB gets 30 plus first down

It's not about any ******* penalties!, the Bears suck - Confirmed

Only a Tomlin led team could make them look good

When the Bears go 1-15 and the Steelers lose again in Foxboro - you can pin this season on Tomlin for not having the team prepared to win

Not blaming the refs for the Steelers game, just the PI in general, the refs totally botched two last night, one should've resulted in an automatic first down in GB territory for Chicago, the other gave GB 30 yards for nothing

that PI the refs missed was blatant as hell. Wheaton had his right arm held down/back as he turned left to run parallel to the line of scrimmage. The ball was right on the money, but Wheaton was essentially one-armed and with his hands ...

People that whine about penalties always piss me off. There a dozens that get called or not get called every game.

SO WHAT? Go out and make a play, it's not a damn video game, there is no reset

You want something to ***** about? I'll give you something to ***** about....make me mod for a day

i honestly feel that the NFL is as fixed as boxing. Referees paid to shave points, decide the outcomes out right? I'm no conspiracy theorist but it totally makes sense why drives are killed with phantom calls or kept alive with PI or defensive holding. Chicago wins in OT with a blatant hold. Right? It's not far fetched.

I just think it's called too much. If you're gonna make it a spot foul with potential for huge gains way down the field, it needs to be enforced with some discretion. These guys are throwing flags on overthrown passes, for some basic hand checking, etc. It needs to be a pass that is catchable and that it's clear the interference made the difference between a catch and an incompletion.

I'm also totally okay with it being a 15 yard penalty. Having desperate defenders commit PI on deep balls and getting flagged 15 yards, while not ideal, is a lot more palatable to me than its opposite counterpart - a defender doing his best to play good coverage and getting a ticky tack penalty that gives the offense 60 yards. Screw that

I would point out, that there were LOTS of ****** calls either missed or ignored last week that benefited the Bears. This week it went the Packers way.

You win some, you lose some. The law of averages... Or at least TV Ratings.

Don't run pass patterns over the middle of the field unless you're a tough sob. Oh wait wrong decade. It really makes me wonder how swann&stallworth made it out of the 70's alive.

Flacco might as well retire if they change the PI rules.

With two S's hobbling or out. You are going to see classic heave ho and go Flacco on Sunday.

Watt and Dupree better get that *** going on getting some pressure on him.

I'm not sure about the PI calls....but if the Steelers are going to get flagged for roughing the passer I sure as hell hope they get their money's worth and crush Flaccid.

At least earn the penalty and make him uncomfortable all game.

And trust me you do not want to do that. The CFL tried. Complete **** show. Review is for black and white scenarios. Penalty review is rarely black and white.

Ever notice on how the team behind tends to get the calls?

It's a real problem. I also think Tomlin has not done himself any favors.
