Can someone please explain to me why you'd ever only use 2 DL on a goal line situation?

Tell you what though when they do use it Hargrave needs to be one of them. His pass rush is better then any other interior DL

Absolutely agreed, I just don't get the goal line thing, I can some what see it between the 20's depending on situation.

I've been asking for 3-4 years now, why would we EVER use 2 DL in any situation. The "new sub-package" football excuse our local analysts throw out is bullshit. 2 DL does NOT work. You have to have a solid foundation to your D and your O. That starts with the line in both cases. 2 DL is NOT a stable foundation. You can't stop the run at all and you will be lucky to get pressure on the QB with speed alone. You need power up the middle. I hate this new D and I hope this is the last year we see it but I doubt Tomlin gives up on it and Butler but that concept has to change.

Yesterday we had 2 DL and 3 safeties in the game on many of their running plays. How'd that turn out? They ran right down our throats every time they wanted to. A very injured Howard had 100+ and 2 TD's on us. The dude may as well have had his one arm in a sling and he still torched us. Terrible coaching not to adjust to a run only team and terrible execution by the players on the field.

It works well when your OLB keep contain

The thing is glennon is not good the bears could only beat us one way and they did. Should have stacked up to stop the run and force glennon to make throws. Most of his yards came from dump offs. A pee-wee coach should have adjusted to that.

Well our Dick L. Defensive coordinator felt otherwise. Top that with a head coach who has trouble making in game adjustments and WhoALa you have a one demensional crappy team that beat us.

Salute the nation

I tell you we are stuck with Tommy Tom. But too many more special teams performances like that and he would be showed the door. Three ST **** ups, inexcusable,
