The Pittsburgh Steelers eight Super Bowl appearances have provided NFL Films with an uncanny amount of highlights and great (even iconic) plays. Try and name another franchise where a Willie Parker 75-yard TD run in the Super Bowl — the longest TD run in Super Bowl history — would not even crack the top 10 […]

EXCELLENT write up Bill and a great stretch down memory lane.

I've always said it would be hard to find the 10 top plays in the super bowl that didn't have at least 5 involving the STEELERS.

So not exactly a stellar play, but certainly an oft forgotten one is that right before making the greatest td grab in super bowl history, Santonio dropped a much easier wide open catch in the end zone

It would have been no less impactful a catch than the next play, but it would have robbed the world of the magnificent throw and spectacular toe tapping grab .....

Another significant forgotten play was SB against Arizona. It was durring that game winning drive where Santonio had a catch and run reception, it was for significant yards and I think the defender had slipped and fallen.

Faneca was on the radio yesterday in Pittsburgh and was talking about that Parker play. He said the coaches put that in the week of the game. Saw on tape the ILB would bite toward the slot WR on the left side of our O. So in the first half we hit EL on a few little passes out of the slot and the ILB bit hard on it.
He said second half they came out in that same formation, and Seattle defense was in the look they wanted, Ben checked to that run, and Faneca said, Holy **** here we go, we got them.

Haters like those of bungle fans were passing this photo off as Holme's catch to show how both feet were not down.

"We cheated and Rooney paid off the refs."

Yours truly then presented them with the actual photo.

Different shoes for one thing.
And if you look at a panorama picture of the catch you will see what appears a photographer in khaki pants kneeling.

And the funniest thing about the "we paid the refs off" ****, is that: 1. with about 3 mins left in the game, we were up 20-14, Ben just hit Holmes on a 3rd and 10 from our own endzone for a first down, that would've allowed us to kill clock and run alot of the clock down, but those paid off refs flagged us for a holding call in the endzone for a safety, making it 20-16 and us having to kick to Arizona.
2. Arizona scored on that ensuing drive making it 23-20, on the first play of our game winning drive, those "paid refs" flagged us for a holding call making it 1st and 20. (could've been a false start can't remember)

That’s the good stuff there. Good check Ben!

Thank you Alan Faneca for telling that story

Bengals fans are stupider versions of criminal browns fans... **** those fucktards... still the only fanbase to ever try to fight me and my friends...

There might need to be a part II in this. Kirklands sack, Ben’s block, Woodleys sacks & Harrison drawing multi holdings, Wagner’s INT
