Crashed his car through a supermarket window with blood alcohol .16. This will be interesting. Some of the most iconic calls for the Steelers.lucky no one was hurt. Does he get a pass or retired. He is 80.

wow, .16 at 80 years old?

regardless, he's old enough to have known better, the idiot. far as I'm concerned, he should've been retired years ago.

After asking if Hillgrove had been drinking, he responded he “had a couple beers” at Bella Luna in Murrysville. When asked what happened at Ferri’s, Hillgrove responded, “That car just got away from me. I’m telling you that car just got away from me.”

How about he crashed, got a prescription inside, and then LEFT! At no point did anyone think maybe they shouldn't let this guy get back in his car? He probably shouldn't be behind the wheel again.

As far as his announcing career goes, I love everything he's contributed to the team, but he slipped and probably should've retired years ago.

Off subject, but I bagged groceries there as a kid, before Murrysville became a high rent district.

Just keeping with the great tradition of Pittsburgh sportscasters begun by Bob Prince and Myron Cope.

Hillgrove slipping? Sorry, I dont hear that at all. It's not like he's Lee Corso (Which I'm thankful they still have on the show)

With that being said, The Steelers and Pitt radio networks can't have a PR problem like this. More than likely, they'll force him into a rehab situation to keep him on board and satisfy the public scrutiny.

Might be a real bad time for him to have a DUI. Can't imagine being 80 and being that hammered but at least he's still living large.
