He's Not Wrong

I think he’s spot on talking about the playoff failures since the SB loss.,The loses especially the Jags home loss and losing to Tim Tebow are at the top of the list.Then losing to Mayfield and the Browns at home.
The wins are not impressive beating backup QBs and Alex Smith.
But hay, greatest coach ever.
Did you know Tomlin never had a losing season?
 
We would have won the superbowl in 2016 if Bell didnt go down with the groin. We were the best team. Unfortunately you can't lose youre best offensive weapon for the afc championship game and win. That was a special era
 
The fact that they basically rebuilt themselves as legit playoff team in one year says Tomlin is here for foreseeable future. But I agree this team needs to take steps. My preference is at least a playoff win this year.

In my opinion it wouldn't have mattered. That was the Jessy James play wasn't it. I don't see anyway the Steelers go to Gillette and win that game. Nothing about Mike Tomlin's career says that to me. Sorry.

That is what I want one playoff win. With the depth on this team that should be obtainable. Some might say but Canada , well they chose to retain him so no excuses.

Of course, I was thinking what was acceptable. Anything less than a playoff win and it is substandard for me...
 
Imo, if this football team doesn’t at least make the playoffs and win one playoff game then this will have been a failed season. And no, I don’t give a crap about a non losing season if we don’t get in the playoffs and win a damn game.

Totally disagree with the talent assessment. I think we have been far less talented, particularly our depth, than people think. We have had some stars but I really think Tomlin and Ben made a lot of players look a tier or two higher than they really were. This lead to teams making the playoffs and losing that wouldn’t have made the playoffs normally. Just my opinion but there is quite a bit of supporting evidence based on the careers of many players after leaving Pittsburgh not going as well.

Any given Sunday we can be dangerous, come out and smoke the best team in the league (provided it’s regular season)…
Any given Sunday we can lay a complete egg and lose to a doormat, tomato can with a backup QB and 2-3 street free agents signed yesterday on the OL

We’re so average and completely dangerous to opponents and the team’s passionately loyal fan base

Ready to be complete badasses again
