Watched the Netflix documentary last night. Sounded like the Patriots money is caught up in court. I'm wondering what happened to the cap hit. I wouldn't put it past the league to give the Pats a break. Anyone remember?

Hard to fathom what he did or why etc. They never really addressed the why, other than "this is what he did or what we think he did"
Then the CTE diagnosis. IDK, a lot of old ball players aren't out there killing people.

I found it. They took a 16 million dollar cap hit in 2012 and were done. That was the guaranteed cash. Gotta say it was a pretty good documentary.
I don't think they could really come to a conclusion as to the why. Sounded like he came from a fairly violent home, but had structure. Though his dad was a mean drunk the structure was lost when he died young. They allude to Hernandez hiding his sexuality as a possible motive for the killing(s) but draw no real conclusions
Also sounded like he was smoking weed by the bushel. How did he avoid the testing on that?
judging from Leveons pics of his blunts, I don't think the NFL really cares.

I don't think the NFL tests for drugs unless you get caught some other way. I could be wrong.
What I noticed was how they glossed over the Pounceys' roll in the things Hernandez was up to in Florida. James Patterson wrote a very extensive book about Hernandez that does into the details.

If I remember correctly, I have heard they test in April, and you know when it is so.....? If you do get caught, then you are subject to randoms, and that means anywhere. So getting caught is pretty stupid. Lay off for a bit, smoke it after. No way these players don't smoke it during the season.
Though some wrestlers did kill people, and Seau killed himself.

They tried , yes. I'm not buying. His daddy was mean and pushed hard. I'm not impressed. I turned out ok. Imo, his whole murdering thing was to cover homosexual activity.

It probably was. No matter how hard it was you always have a choice, especially when you are so gifted that you got millions of dollars and are not forced to make bad choices to survive

I don’t think they portrayed him as a victim as they strongly implicated him in both murders highlighting the evidence, were sympathetic to his victims and their families, speculated he might have shot someone while at UF, and covered the repeal of the law that would have thrown out his conviction because he died while appealing his verdict.
I think all the family issues, closeted homosexuality and CTE discussion was speculation about what turned him into a violent sociopath.
Probably knew where all the bodies were buried in the Patriots organization too.
Big difference between being mean and physically abusive. I don't know anything about his childhood to form an opinion. But I know first hand what a ****** childhood can do for you. And yet again I haven't killed anyone. Like it is said you always have choices. I do want to say that you can put yourself in bad situations with bad early influences. So I sympathize with anyone that was brought up in difficult situations.

Yeah, because that's pretty normal for people w/ family issues, issues of sexuality etc. to senselessly kill people. These guys with CTE, they're running around shooting m'fers up as well.
No doubt I sympathize with people who've had to endure very abusive (whether it be physically, sexually, psychologically etc.) situations, but they're not running around capping people who look at them wrong or spill a drink on their shirt.
