Who knows what to believe. Now Harrison’s agent is saying it isn’t true. I personally can’t stand Harrison because of how everything unfolded with him at the end of his career. He appeared to be a cry baby and when he signed with the cheaters the. He was dead to me.

I wish Harrison would stop talking. He had nothing to say to the media when he was with the Steelers. Now you can’t get him to shut up. If this happened, and he took the money, why speak up now?

Paying for a fine even if true so what? It wasn't multiple if true so obviously it wouldn't have been a payment to hit people moreso to keep Deebo from bring a pouty *****. I keep getting fined wahhh. When the story came out I read the part if the cheats would have won Deebo would have returned to the cheats to help them get 7 to be spiteful. Really James? I know some where letting you off the hook but your true colors are shining through. He can go **** himself. No change in opinion for me.

Meh i don't like Tomlin but don't care either way what happened. Its not like Tomlin was paying Harrison to take people out. As for what happened when he left i think both parties were at fault. You don't sign or extend a guy like Harrison to sit on the bench inactive. Its not like our other players were tearing it up at that position. He was probably told he would get paying time and he got very little. Of course he handled it like a baby, but I wouldn't want to sit on the bench and rot my potential last year either

Tomlin is going to cost the Steelers again. Why the Steelers stick with such a mediocre coach who had two back to back season collapses and is 3-6 in his last nine playoff games is beyond me.

Yes. I believe it happened.

Dude used to be one of my all time favorite Steelers. I'm not sure I can even consider him a Steeler any more after all the **** he's done to try and hurt the team. For some reason he feels the need to continually say negative things about the organization. **** him!

Ol girl stopped me from buying his statue in the Steelers store in Monroeville. (Store closed down eventually) She thought it was too pricey and said something along the lines of what's wrong with me [emoji28]. I think it was 300 and some dollars. Probably the best non purchase I ever made. Oh my go to answer to that question is always, " a lot".

The paying of the fine is NO big deal other than there should have been a "GAG ORDER" clause and a signed contract on the deal.

The ******* CHEATRIOTS round about paid billicheat said spygate $500,000.00 fine by giving him a $500,000.00 dollar raise so **** them as well.

The problem with DEBO is his ego needs the lime, kinda like the tequila shot. HIS on field STEELERS performance is indisputable and I LOVE that part of him, his play. His off field is crap and thus that part of him hi viewed that way. As a person I'm thinking less and less of him.

SHUT the **** up James or I'll build a special

"and inside the envelope, Tomlin had a hand-written message that said "G_ F_ck Y__rself. I have to pay fines and buy vowels, too? Tomlin just hated me."

Paying for a fine even if true so what?

I did not read the OP here, but did read Dale's article at DK. James reportedly says an envelope but not what was inside. But, the implication is pretty ******* clear. Its a big deal because it is against the rules for a team to pay a players fines. The rule may/may not be crap, but if it is a rule then there it is. I mean, it isn't like we are the Pats where rules violations are ignored.

but, back to the point, if JH is going to imply he received cash...why not just outright accuse? he is tryign to smear MT because he feels MT lied to him about playing time. Same **** he did with the promised AB Interview. He is throwing **** against wall. Y'all talk about "look at me" threads..JH is trolling MT here to get attention.

You know,I always just assumed the teams usually paid the fines in some kind of hush up way. Not just the Steelers. James is an idiot for opening his big mouth. This could open up a can of worms if they make a big deal about this. Would the tax man get involved? The way he said handed an envelope. Implying it’s cash. A question. If he got fined 100,000$ that year does he pay taxes on that 100k? Can he claim it as a write off? Where does the fine money paid to the nfl go? I thought I read to a charitable organization. Does he then claim that as a contribution? Probably stupid questions, but in the back of my head I have always wondered about all the fine money, thinking it was a bit of a scam.

Do you think the Steelers paid Mason’s fine last year? By the way..........if the news came out that a certain other organization ( the one with a bunch of RED HOT POKERS inserted) paid their former players fine for adjusting the pressure of the pigskin, would we be screaming for an investigation? Calling them a bunch of ******* cheaters? This might get interesting,in the off-season with no real news. The media train might start chugging away on this.

I hope Tomlin paid the fine. I know coaches aren't allowed to do that, but if he did, that's awesome. I doubt it was the first or will be the last time a coach pays a player's fine. Sticking up for his player on a lame fine when the NFL was still hyping up those types of hits. Harrison needs to be more tactful when he shares these stories...such as AFTER Tomllin leaves the Steelers/retires. He does media tours, he knows.

JH's agent is denying it ever happened and says he would have known one way or another.... I think what we have here is a case of liar liar pants on fire.

:cool-new:

I'm with most of you. Just sick of hearing from Harrison. The guy has a huge axe to grind against the Steelers and is taking every opportunity that presents itself to ream the team. He's an angry, bitter, arrogant man. Just go away.

LOL. This is comical.

1. Sports shows are desperate for ANY fodder these days. This will keep them busy for a week.Something has to replace the non story of Jordan Love being drafted by Green Bay!
2. JH is a regular on the talking head shows...he can now do his rounds.
3. JH was villain #1 of the NFL back then.
4. It was a running joke to Steeler fans (and the players) that JH gets fined for any hard hit.
5. The hit was not illegal, but everyone assumed he would get fined.
6. MT giving him an envelope. Could be for many reasons. "Here's your parking pass". lol.

Move on....

Every team has this sort of "ex-player". I think they are so used to be "in the picture" that once retired, they get to feeling left out.

My advice would be to find something that is totally selfless and donate your time and resources to that. A charitable foundation to help others / kids in need / big brother / sister, anything to let you see the grounded side of life.

NFL football players, even the lower ended ones, are treated like kings. They get that special treatment all the way around and the more popular player the higher the treatment. Once retired, that treatment dicipates away and then you get some individuals that can't fade into the sunset. Meet James Harrison, Mr. Irrelevant who hasn't realized it yet.

EDIT: To a degree I sympathize FOR James Harrison. A crazy career with all those perks of INSANE money and public special treatment everywhere so intense that it becomes the norm. I hope that somewhere he can come to the reasoning of instead of bashing, he can be thanking.

Why the **** would he bring something like that up?.

Tomlin should have never handed Harrison the envelope.

Tomlin lied to Harrison saying he getting playtime when it didn’t happen.

Payback is a *****. This could be worse than sideline gate.
