So the rules for selecting the team that will appear on Hard Knocks each year :

1) It can’t be a team with a rookie head coach
2) It can't be a team that’s been in the playoffs the last two years
3) It can't be a team that’s been on Hard Knocks in the last ten years

Those parameters leave :

Detroit Lions
New York Giants
Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers
Washington Redskins

New GM Mayock
Chuckie
A Clown
4 players selected in the top 40 of this year's draft
Last Year in Oakland before moving to Vegas

Anyone have enough stones to bet that it WON'T be the Raiders?
TOO many storylines writing themselves for it NOT to be them.

Fixed that you ya.

The only team I see even being a consideration are the New York Giants w/ Eli and the new QB story-line, and they're a big market, but the Raiders are a shoo-in for this.

You can point out a key/interesting storyline for each of the five teams.

Patricia with Lions and yet ANOTHER early 1st round TE, new OC, healthy Kerryon, etc.
Haskins in DC with Jay Gruden.
On the comeback trail in San Francisco with Jimmy Graps and welcome Nick Bosa #2.
As previously mentioned Giant storyline from Steelworth.

We need to get our ***** in gear so we aren't having this conversation about us being a candidate for that show next year at this time.

man, i would think we would be a lock if eligible

Gruden already said he doesn't want to do it as "they aren't ready." In other words, he knows they're a sh-t show and doesn't want it exposed.

I mean, when you dump all your scouts 2 weeks before the draft, it's gotta be a clown car.

I think they will save the Raiders for next year in Vegas. The Giants have pull with the league so I don't think they will be forced to do it.

Those guidelines don't mean a team can't volunteer. A team that maybe wants to sell tickets. I could see the Jags volunteering. Same with Tampa. Arians would probably love doing it. He already did allow cameras for a whole season when he was with Arizona for a series on amazon prime.

I could see the Chargers volunteering, They desperately need some PR

but what if they are 8-8? That's not a losing season which means it can't be seen a negative.

Whom ever can't see 8-8 as a negative needs their glasses checked. This team is WAY to talented to accept 8-8 as not a negative,...... NOW 9-6-1 is OK as that's a proven acceptance..............................

Point of emphasis.....the philosophy has always been since Chaz coached the team was to win the division...FIRST. Then go for the championship. The season record is what it is. Win games regardless of opponent and location and get that division title. The wins by scheduling is a variable no one can predict. So there is no reason to focus on it. If you are in the playoffs you should be capable of being good enough to win anywhere.

Ike, that is tried and true philosophy that hasn't seen light here for about 12 years...................... This team seems to always be looking ahead or dwelling in the past and that definately comes from coaching. MAYBE now that the meMEme twins are gone Tomlin will have more time to focus on important things,...... You know like..... COACHING......... PREPARING...........FUNDIMENTALS............. Etc........

Correct.
However, back in 2013, the owners passed a resolution with these rules because teams weren't volunteering and there was a lot of fighting amongst the owners to not have to be the team.
The resolution gives an automatic pass to owners so they're out of the fight.
This year's team will absolutely come from the teams I outlined.
The other 27 owners are relieved they don't even have to get involved at this point.

Tomlin needs a good season as badly as LB and FB do. (**** Brown).

With the guys who were "distracting everyone" gone, Tomlin has his ship in order and there's no reason for the Steelers to not return to form. Unless there is...
