I if we keep him we are contenders every year until ben retires

yeah

Bell looks like he is getting a little antsy.

agree, if true, don't think the Steelers are the ones moving much but who knows.

I think it would be smart for him to sign a long term deal. He's not getting any younger and I would think the older he gets the less valuable he would be.

It could save some cap room on the front end while having the largest portion of the cap hit after Ben retires when we can afford it. If it's structured in that way, I'd be on board.

I agree. All depends upon structure. Its terrible but the money needed for Shazier will be spent. Id rather it be a guy who is top ten in the league any position. He will be great for at least three more.

He will be great for at least three more years does not apply to a running back. I'm sure many thought the same for Parker and Foster at one point.

I do not see anything happening in June. Best guess, Bell holds out for a while in camp.

Bell saying all the right things is new.

As much as I don't want to pay to pay that kind of money for a RB. I think the offense would benefit from having everyone in camp. What's a few million (of not my money) to get the ball rolling the right way ?

Contenders vs. the Super Bowl teams that both had no-name running backs.

I think this year it was exemption both teams dived carries well and used their average backs to their best ability, anyone who was jon Conner compared asa pro RB coming out of pitt? if someone like J.Stewart or micheal Turner let bell go suck with the just end the season.

I wonder if we could trade him to Cleveland before he ends his (not) hold out? We could probably get next year's #1.

We'll throw in a pine fresh air freshner as a compliment.
Always lessens the stank of the miles of the vehicle

The last time a top notch work horse RB won a super bowl was Lynch and he only had 975 yards that year.
Parker, Saints RB?, GB RB?, Giants RB?, Rice, Lynch, NE RBs, Denver RB, NE RBs, Philly RBs. No big name running backs.

No big names but they were serviceable

I get the frustration over the money. But Anyone who somehow thinks the Steelers are better without Bell is joking. He is the best runner, best skill player at blocking and probably the second or third best receiver.

I get Bell catches a lot of balls but he is NOT a top 5 or even top 10 WR and maybe not even top 20. If you line him up at WR all game long and not as a RB threat, I guarantee he doesn't come anywhere near his catch production. He gets his catches because he is a RB first and teams don't cover him with a top DB when he shifts out or catches out of the backfield. As far as a true WR goes, I would pay at least 10 or 20 out there more than I would pay Bell as a WR. That is where his argument to be paid as the best RB and top WR is critically flawed. He is arguably the best RB but nowhere near the best WR.

Exactly, he's asking for this enormous amount for a RB, but he was 3rd in rushing, outside the top 20 in ypc behind a top OL, 3rd in rushing TDs. He was the leading pass catcher, but 4th in yards, and only 2 TDs. If he wants what he's asking then he needs to be elite across the board and he's not

ADD in the fact of "used car" and that HUGE price seems even more unreal.
I truly hope the STEELERS don/t mortgage future "CAP" hell. 14.2 1year guarantee or 10mil a year with 2mil bonus if play entire season including play off, another 2 mil bonus if acquire rushing title, another 2 mil bonus if #4 in receptions all guaranteed 3 years.

Salute the nation

Was out working late last night and listening to Paul Zeiss on 93.7. He comes on at midnight when there's a Pirates game on. Zeiss says there is no way they are close to a long-term deal.
