Well this one had that typical after the bye week start.....our team was asleep for the first quarter but then Ben and the Offense got things rolling. I'll start by saying I think Randy Fichtner has done a pretty descent job with this offense through the first half of this season. Defensively the Steelers seem to be settling down and showing improvement. I gotta say for the Cleveland OC (Haley or Jackson) whoever is calling their play to not change up the cadence for Mayfield and their offense was absolutely ridiculous. Bud Dupree and the rest of the Defense had the timing down perfectly.....Dupree was in the backfield many times before Mayfield dropped back and he put the pressure on for the holding call for the Safety. Crazy! Onto Ratbird week......I hope our Steelers can keep rolling in Baltimore!

Game Balls:
James Conner - 146 yds rushing 66 yd receiving. So the only question remains....is he better than LeVeon Bell? It's obvious the team has really moved past Bell.
Ben Roethlisberger - 24/36 257 yds 2 TD's 1 INT - Another day at the office for Ben.
Antonio Brown - 6 rec 74 yds 2 TD's.....Ward might be AB's toughest matchup he will face all year but he made plays when it counted
Joe Haden - Great job keeping Jarvis Landry in check plus a nice INT to boot.
Bud Dupree - Stats won't show it but he had the timing down on the Clowns snap count and he was giving the Clowns fits!
TJ Watt - He really is a thorn in the side of the Clowns.
Stephon Tuitt - Going against his old teammate Chris Hubbard Tuitt dominated and was able to get good pressure all day.

Game Goats:
Roosevelt Nix - Calling for a fair catch on that Free Kick screwed up Ryan Switzer when it came to fielding that. That can really change game momentum....thank god it didn't.
Ryan Switzer - You should know that's a live ball on that Free Kick!

FU's:
FU to the officiating crew.....Clowns got away with two Pass Interference no calls, a blatant Face Mask on TJ Watt and Illegal Formation on a play call in the first QTR.....all missed by officials. BRUTAL!

I thought Hilton played well. You can always tell when he is on the field.

McDonald continues to leave bodies on the field.

Good win! Happy camper here!

I know it was mentioned but the Safety Free Kick?
WTF, who's coaching special teams fer crissakes??

Having considered the free-kick fiasco, I suspect that Nix KNEW the rules and was trying to cause a hesitation for the Browns. I don't know if you can call Fair Catch on a free kick as it's a "free kick" so him doing that didn't make any sense. Add to the fact that he was in position to make the catch, called the fair catch and then immediately moved into blocking position, he clearly assumed Switzer was going to catch the ball and run.

Switz just forgot the rules or got confused by Nix calling for the fair catch. (That part was obvious.)

Regarding the refs, I don't know how many of you noticed it, but they gave the Browns 1 last chance before the Steelers final TD. The clock never started again at 2:56 after a 1 yard run by the rookie. The Steelers should have been able to run an additional 30 or seconds off, but they didn't start the clock again until Conner picked up 8 on the next play.

OL was getting their *** handed to them in the first, but they got their act together and dominated.

OL game ball

Yes, you can, as long as the ball has not hit the ground. That's a big reason why kickers drive the ball into the ground on onside kicks, to prevent the receiving team from calling for a fair catch.

I vould be wrong, but i thought the crew blew a couple kickoffs dead as soon as they landed in the red zone earlier... i was bitching that both teams weren’t playing as if those were live balls then the free kick happened and I was livid...

That no one reminded everyone that its a free ball is absolutely absurd...

If it were up to me, someone different tomorrow. Although, this ain't switzers first year doing returns, seems like he would know.

Cold it be that Dupree is just starting to figure it out now?

You forgot about a goat or maybe even a FU to Sensabaugh getting stripped after a freebee INT. Smart *** carried the rock like a loaf of bread. Had daylight to the endzone..
A certain FU if that potential TD would have been the game winner.

They blow them dead when the ball is in the end zone. Live ball if its in the field of play.

Cold it be that Dupree is just starting to figure it out now?

If you mean by figuring it.... going ip against rookie tackles. Yes. Joking aside, yes hopefully tje game is slowing down for him

I don't get how we continue to see on replay DB's holding for way more than ten yards and we seldom get a call ye t when we do the same three flags come flying,

I feel Dupree had a decent game, but I wouldn’t say VERY good.

He seems not know the definition of containment. He goes AT the ball even whe he should be holding his position to keep the RB inside.

Feiler wins next man up award for the day. Rush game looked good, Ben wasn't getting killed, points were being scored...once we shook the first quarter funk.

The play never happened, Baker was called down as he threw the ball from his knees. The whistles were blowing like crazy, and Sensabaugh had stopped running full speed because of that.

Hats off to Burns. His tight coverage kept a single pass from coming his way. He also was not flagged.
May be best game of his career.

what's up with Burns?
