Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's........vs Clowns.....

Well a nail biter in the final week of the season. If this game proved anything I am still not sure about Landry Jones as a starting NFL QB if #7 retires. Ben please don't retire after this season! Onward and Upward into the playoffs we go! Here's to a healthy start to our 2017 season playoff run!

Game Balls:
Juju Smith Schuster - This kid is a stud! 9 rec 143yds & 96 yd kickoff return for a TD. Loving me some Juju!
Landry Jones - 23 for 27 for 239 yds and 1 TD. Had a bad interception where he was starting down the WR but I thought he held his own and made some better decisions as the game went on behind our backup O-line.
Stevan Ridley - 17 for 80yds 1 TD.....not bad spot duty....a little worried about his ball security in the playoffs.
BJ Finney - This kid was having a great game until he got hurt.....He pulled on one run play around the left side and absolutely pancaked Myles Garrett....he trucked him! Hope his injury is not serious!
Corey Coleman - What an incredible first round pick for the Clowns! I hope they continue to the tradition in 2018 of their long history of #1 Draft picks that continue to play sub par NFL football!

Game Goats:
Steelers Defense.....I know they had six sacks to set the Steelers sack record however today watching them repeatedly give up a first down on third and 10yd or more (I think it was 8 or 9 times The Clowns coverted on 3rd & 10 or longer) was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!

FU's:
FU to Hue Jackson....enjoy your swim in Lake Erie! You'll go down as one of the Greatest Head Coaches for The Clowns! I hope ya get a 20 year extension in the Offseason! CHEERS! PS - Please bring back Sashi Brown he was the Yang to your Ying!
 
Burns is still not close to be getting a game ball. Three 3 and long passes given up by Burns, he made one play all day. The offense played well.

The problem with our D is the same problem with our O. The person calling the plays. Kiser folds under preasure, absolutely folds. He doesn't step up into the pocket, he retreats. Too many times on third and long we sat back in coverage. I would have sent a blitz on every single third down they had. We have good players, put them in better positions and our D looks a whole lot better. Even still, I can't complain too much, they did give a lot more reps to the back ups this game. Players that needed some real time snaps under their belts in case we need them.

We are exposed so much more now without our defensive captain (Shazier). I think with him in their, Kizer doesn't get a third of those rushing yards. We are gonna struggle under his absence, that's a given.

He definitely would help, but alot of those runs came vs only 2DL, add Heyward in there with Tuitt and Hargrave or Alualu and he wouldn't have anywhere to step up to and run.

Alualu looked decent today. He had a few strong pushes today.

Landry Jones is 2-0 against the Browns as a backup put in as a starter in 2 of the last 3 times they have played the Steelers.

Browns QB's over the last two and 3/4 seasons have combined for 2 wins in their last 45 games .

DeShone Kizer / Kevin Hogan / Robert Griffin III / Josh McCown / Cody Kessler / Johnny Manziel / Austin Davis.....a combined 2 wins.

I thought I saw Finney back in there after two botched snaps in a row. Defense was a weak spot all day long. I hope they were trying to lull our next opponent into a false sense of security.

It's clear the defense was playing at half speed today to avoid injuries, it was obvious NE wasn't going to lose. The defense played a better game against Brady until the Pats fan in lieu of replay official in NY stole the game from us, that game is a much better gauge. And Kizer is also more mobile than the QB's we'll be seeing in the playoffs, and his mobility that we haven't been used to threw us off a bit today. I'm not too concerned just based on today.

Gotta take those Black and Gold tinted glasses off. Playing half speed is a good recipe to get injured. They were getting gashed. Also, we were luck to be in s position for James to catch that game winner. Remember, we gave up 11 points in something like three minutes. What do both of those situations have in common? Yep, a porous defense.

Good game by the offense. Landry did fine with the exception of the bad interception.

Mitchell sucks ***, as mentioned so many times. Outside of one play, Tuitt did nothing. In fact, Tuitt really hasn't done much all year. How much did the Steelers pay that guy?

I think the Browns should give us their first for Jones. He clearly knows how to win there better than their own QBs!
 
Landry is an ok 3rd team qb as long as he is not under center.

Tuitt is the key to me on defense if we want to get to where we want to go..HE HAS TO STEP UP

Bad angles my ***, he took himself out of plays then tried to recover and he has the absolute worse eye on judging ball projector y.
Mitchell is the worst player on our D. I know it looks like his angles are bad and at times that is the case but 1/2 the time he runs
himself out of the play then is trying to recover making it appear as if it's a bad angle. A baseball outfielder can make a determination
of ball projection in about .28-.36 seconds off the bat, Mitchell has over 2 seconds on deep balls to identify projection but can't. William
Gay would be able as would many others, it's just mitchell must have depth perception troubles.

Dude carries a $5M salary on this team and is a liability.....one of the top paid players and plays like a third year backup.

You do realize his salary is peanuts in the NFL right now right? He is tied for 24th at his position. He might suck but his salary isn't hurting us. Just his play is.
