Travelling to LA with your 3rd String QB making his first NFL start and coming away with the win......I guess our Steelers are back in the hunt and have a pulse after all at 2-4 after 6 weeks going into the bye. I love seeing the Steeler Nation invade opposing team's stadiums but tonight was almost ridiculous.....It was at least 60 or 70% Steelers fans in that stadium tonight. Congratulations to Devlin Hodges getting a Win in his first NFL start! The Defense set the tone early for the game with great pressure on Phillip Rivers and a few costly turnovers both recovered by Rookie Devin Bush. I love going into the BYE week on a win. Hopefully Mason Rudolph can get back into the saddle before our next game Monday night vs Miami. A good game all around and a good game plan by the Coaching Staff to limit Devlin Hodges exposure to that Chargers Defense. I'm beginning to wonder how good this team truly is. Yes we are a 2-4 team but those 4 losses.....3 of which were close games are against 4 teams with a combined record of 20-3.

Injuries:
Stephon Tuitt - Pectoral injury....will have an MRI tomorrow
TJ Watt - Oblique being evaluated
Joe Haden - Groin injury
James Conner - Quad Injury being evaluated

Game Balls:
James Conner - Hard running tonight helped make everything easier for Devlin Hodges making his first NFL start. Conner got the hard yards. 16 carries 41 yds, 7 rec 78yds & 2 TD's
Benny Snell - Did a great job coming in for an injured James Conner to keep the pressure off Devlin Hodges late in the game.....nice game 17 carries for 75 yds, 1 rec 14 yds
Cameron Sutton - He just keeps making plays.....reminds me of a young Deshea Townsend.....great coverage all night tonight & and a nice INT to seal the game. Not to mention his onsides kick recovery coming up with the football.
Devlin Hodges - He wasn't great but got the job done making his first NFL start. WTG Rookie! 15 for 20 132 yds 1-TD
Jordan Berry - Having his best year as a Steeler....tonight might have been his best game punting including a coffin corner kick to the 1yd line late in the game to put the Chargers back against the wall
Devin Bush - 2 turnovers....one returned for a TD & an INT. On that fumble return heads up to Devin Bush for making a play on the football because TJ Watt, Tyson Alualu & Vince Williams were all huddled around it doing nothing. WTG Devin Bush!
O-line - Blew some big holes in that Chargers Front 7 tonight....big part of the victory tonight

Game Goats:
None - Hey even Moncrief caught a pass tonight!

FU's:
FU to all the fans of the lesser 31 teams....that's how you TAKEOVER an opposing teams Stadium! STEELER NATION BABY!!!

I'm gonna give one goat. To the safeties. They both had easy opportunities for interceptions. Edmunds on a throw behind the TE at the goal line and Fitzpatrick (Mr. First Round) on what should have been an easy game sealing play.

game ball to the d line. All two of them.. whomever they were . Had great pressure especially first half. aluaalua, cam, Tuit (early), big dan.. Didn't see Hargrave.

I think I agree. Edmunds sucks, so I expect it from him but Fitzpatrick wasn't much better. Why could we not just put Fitz on Henry and let him match up with him, a top 10 pick should be able to do that.

****** rights he should be able to. Watch the highlights. Literally every single play they made was 15 yards or more over the middle. It's been the same every week.

I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of defensive backs.. But what I don't understand is this. When you drop back into zone, why does it seem our guys just stand there in their spot. The chargers would catch it in a 5 yrd radius of 4 guys. Wtf. He is in your zone cover him..

Some of those passes by Rivers had so much air under them, it looked liked it was punted to their guy and the ball comes down with not a single Steeler player near the ball.. it was unbelievable.
That Tampa 2 defense is total complete ****.

Absolute complete **** defense. But at least when you have them in tailor made situations like 3rd and 15 with really good cover corners would you be able to hawk a ****** ball or two. That is a lack of vision and play making ability. Like where this team sits I need to see a **** load more out of Fitzpatrick. He looks the same part as Davis.

I think Sutton and Bush deserve to split the game ball. The game went well in the trenches too. Hats off to Conner and Snell who both had solid performances.

My only ***** is the same problem still remains. The middle of the field. You saw late in the game when that pass rush was starting to lose steam and get stonewalled. Bam. Guys running free over the middle. If they can fix that this defense will shut everyone down.

Injuries is what will hurt this defense. Tuitt out is really going to hurt... just a lot to overcome.

The exact reason I laugh when people say that Bush's int were easy picks that flopped right to him. Or the fumbles just bounced right to him. Give the kid props for catching the ball and being around and picking up the loose ball. Over the last 5 or 6 seasons, this defense has dropped so many int's it is crazy. We lost games because of it. As you said. We had 2 ints dropped that probably would have iced the game. Nice to see Sutton hold onto his to seal the deal.

Well Burns played. Maybe he got some help which explains why the middle was so open

Williams was a stud in the middle. He and Bush (when he is back healthy - hopefully won't miss any games with that ankle) should the starters with Barron only coming in to spell them. Williams gets after the runners and even stuffs the middle on passing downs. He may not have the speed but that is why you have him on the field with Bush, who does. They are a good complement to each other - other than Barron who didn't seem to want to play the first few games of the season and was two steps behind everything.

**** you to injuries, half the starting defense was out of the field in the 4th quarter: Nelson, tuitt, haden, watt, Bush playing through pain, even add Sean Davis to that list, not that he is very good but he is better than Cam Kelly.

Speaking of Cam Kelly, he shouldn't see the field unless the team is ravaged with injuries. Same goes for Artie Burns, he got picked on and even had a costly penalty.

Cam Sutton is your main backup CB, wether outside or in the slot, the kid has steadily grown and his awareness is pretty high, always making a play on the ball.

Game balls to Conner and Bush, don't blame the rookie for his lackluster play through the final quarter, the guy was obviously playing injured. When healthy he has proven to be a playmaker, accountable for at least 1 big play per game. Conner is a serious double threat for opposing Ds, in this passing NFL I'll take that every game over a classic grinder in the backfield. Special mention to TJ Watt, the guy is a wrecking ball and a terro fo opposing O coordinators

What a game, no one expected a win and look how we got away with that given the sum of all injuries, salute the Nation.

Hate to bring up the punter, but Berry had one of his best games ever. He started with a 59 yard punt with no return, a 45 yarder fair caught at the 9, a 46 yarder downed at the 14, and ended with one downed at the 1 yard line. A+ Berry.

I think he's actually having his best season by far. I used to cuss him out at least once a game. I haven't had to do that this year yet. That's a good thing.

Hunter got open on Burns and Kelly in the 1st half for big gains and a first down. They were really the only two plays the Dolts had in the 1st half. He had bad coverage on 81 as well at one point. I have no idea what he was doing on the play. He started in his face at the line, then backed up five yards, then disappeared from screen and didn't show up again until after 81 made his catch and easy first down. I guess giving up 20 yard catches and not long bomb TD's and we should be happy with Burns. Complete disappointment.

Snell made a huge impact tonight. Hope he can stay health and keep churning out the tough yards. Like to see more North-South running and was hoping he would have had a chance to run it in when the drive stalled at about the two.

There's 4 guys on this team that have no business on the roster, and that's Holton, Switzer, Burns, and Kam Kelly. Once Tuitt got injured, the D suffered as the lack of pressure exposed Burns and Kelly greatly. And Hodges had hardly any options with two stiffs out there like Holton and Switzer. Plus, they desperately need a real tight end.

Jesus Christ. We ******* win for the first time in years on the West Coast and you nagging ******* want to nitpick.

Are you also going to ***** about Hodges' INT?

Coach - you sound like you didn't watch the game... again. Which comes as a surprise to no one.

yes, Burns was beaten on a few passes (namely that first long gain by Henry), but played decently for the most part. He is who he is. He's obviously better than anyone behind him and is not a zone-coverage player. Why they keep trying to put him in zone coverage is ridiculous.

Last year, Keenan Allen had 19 targets with 14 catches and 148 yards
This year, he had 6 targets with 2 catches for 33 yards

looks to me like something was addressed.

but y'all keep bitching about senseless bullshit.
