Jaylen Samuels got 13 snaps last week in the Steelers' 33-3 loss at New England and it wasn't because the Patriots were winning the game by a bunch.

I noticed that play. They faked a pitch to Conner and then tossed the other direction to JaySam, I believe who was full on Blowed Up in the backfield by Hightower who never once flinched on the fake pitch. (It was one of the plays where I was thinking... Hmmm. Not even a moment's hesitation, Hightower went to exactly the right spot at full-******' speed.)

Anyway, I was happy to see them both on the field. Less thrilled about the results of that particular play.

I don't like the two back set at all, neither guy is really a blocking back, especially Samuels, so if I'm the defense I just take a LB and cover him, either he's getting the ball or going out for a pass, he's not going to lead block for Conner and he's probably not going to stay in and block for Ben.
It seems to split the field in half as well, If Samuels is on Ben right and Conner is on Ben's left, then Conner is not running the ball to the right, he's going left.

I think the two back set can work, especially if they let Samules run patters out of the backfield on the side where the coverage among the LB's is weakest. Who's going to pick him up? It's all about the match ups.

Between Ju-ju, McDnald and Samules, someone is getting open, and Conner is a fine blocker / safety value type. I'll trust the 2nd WR once he emerges and his name shouldn't be Switzer.

I'd also play Samules as the 2nd TE.

Fitchner looked like Todd f'n Haley with that wide pitch on 3rd and short.
