With a huge cap number that Arizona cannot afford to carry he will most likely be released, then we look at our situation, we might not have Bell till week 3 due to suspension.

We could try to get him on draft day send a few mid round picks, He has been phased out of of Bruce's offence no there is a chance despite what their owner says that he will be back but he can hold out refuse a pay cut and force AZ to cut him.

An offence where our 5 wide is FL Brown SE Fitz slot Bryant inside slot Wheaton and someone that is in the backfield but gets put into motion like Bell/Archer/Miller we could be deadly as last years Denver O prior to the SB.

Our issue is our cap we will need Ben to probably take a few mill less over the first few years of his extension that should help bring in Fitz say on a 2 year 5-6 mill deal to retire in the city from where he started it from.
Then Extend Heyward long term as he carries a 7 mill cap number for 2015, get him locked in around 6 years 40-44 mllion, 40 would be the hometown discount and considering he grew up in Pitt I am sure he would take a few mill less to stay, 6 years 42 mill with a 10 mill SB would be the hometown, the player I am comparing the contract numbers is Browns DE.OLB Paul Kruger who signed a 5 year 40 million 13 SB deal last year with the Stains.

By getting both Ben and Heyward on new deals we give them low cap numbers well for sure cam for the first year so we can bring in some Fa's and if we can get Fitz on board, we are just 1 or 2 D players away from having a solid D, i.e retain Worlids 6 years 38 million, if he wants more, bring another former Pitt Star Sheard to replace him as the starting LOLB @ as well keep Moats.
Then we need 1 vet CB from the pool of (Maxwell, Cox, Jackson, Culliver, McCain) 1 S Will Allen, Searcy, Antrell Rolle, Rolle could step in right away at SS and he plays the pass well he can jump routes and turn intc into big returns. Retain McCain @ a vet like Kareem Jackson a change of scenery will do wonders for him well built and sized CB for a 3-4 attacking zone scheme, add in a day 1 CB we have a revamped secondary that should be able to get stops, add in low priced fa rotational rushers Claybord @ Hughes and we have a perfect mix of 3-4 @ 4-3 rushers for Butler to employ Blitzsburgh.

We have too many other issues to worry about taking a cap hit getting another WR. I like Fitz but have to pass on even considering this.

We do NOT need another WR. But something about this just feels so darn right. A Pitt guy that can go fight for a ball that would be a great teacher/role model that can IMO can still be a top notch game changer cannot be overlooked.

Normally I wouldnt be opposed to this, but we need more D help. I do not want to spend a lot of money on a WR when our secondary is in shambles.

Robert Martin, Digital Editorial Intern at Sun Times Network should put down the crack pipe.

there is reason that article isn't posted on any of the major news sites

B B B bullshit

Our strongest position on the team by far. Wouldn't make an ounce of sense.

I wouldn't go as far as it making no sense Larry is a high effort player and would be coming to team with better QB play.

Many ways to attack a teams issues.

Minimizing your weaknesses and strengthening your strengths.

In a passing league having a rock solid passing attack sure wouldn't hurt it to strengthen it

I wouldn't be upset if he joined the team, but it is very improbable the Steelers would pursue him with many holes elsewhere..

But I do think he would help make the O difficult to stop.

(not that it isn't a pipedream)

If they're going after a really good Pitt guy who won't fit under the cap, I'd prefer they sign Revis. ;)

I haven't seen any evidence that the Steelers are targeting Larry Fitzgerald (although I would love to see it). The dude that wrote this is an intern with the Sun Times Network (ever heard of it? I haven't) and the source came from Steel City Blitz, which claims it has sources that Fitzgerald wants to return to Pittsburgh (who knows what type of connections they have).

does fitz want to play for 3/4 milion a year ? if yes bring him here if not .. we are sorry we don't have money to spend there

If they want that secondary to improve quickly he would be a good place to start.

That scenario involves a lot of hometown discounts. Ain't happenin.

but they can spend 9 mil on a overrated OLBer?

I think if they want they can find a way to sign him without breaking the bank.

For every time someone says we can't sign this or that player.

I say but the Broncos, New England, and Baltimore found ways to bring in high profile players.

I am sure the Steelers are capable , the ones making the decisions just need to make the RIGHT decisions.

As the Steelers brought in plenty last year, just not necessary the right decisions were made. But money was spent.

This signing would be my wet dream. Brown, Fitz, Bryant and Wheaton?? If that wouldn't scare defenses and keep them up at night, then I don't know what would. Add Bell into the mix. Holy moly! The defense really does need upgraded and focused on, but just the thought of adding someone like Fitz is fun to do in the off-season.

On a downer note, it's something the Pats or Rats would pull off before we ever could. Just a sad fact!

That lineup should guarantee 40 ppg which is good because the defense will give up 35 if they don't get some better players.

I've been reading a lot of "ESPN Insider" today - there are multiple rumors insinuating that Worilds won't be back and could be headed to either Philly or Nashville...

Ask if they can take Jarvis with him.......

Ben needs weapons, six wide, *******...

Though there is a case to be made for hoping you can hang a 40 burger on everybody, every week, and say screw the D in today's NFL.

But but but one of the best ways to improve the defense, the blocking, the kicking game, and Tomlin's fantasy football team is to give Ben weapons on offense.

We can just have Ben, Descastro to snap him the ball, Heath, Bell and 7 WR's. 7 WIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fitz won't be a Steeler unless he takes a huge discount for his hometown. Pats, hawks, and broncs are more likely landing spots for him.
