When asked about Colts calling out plays he said that is common place. As in "watch the draw". Well no **** Sherlock. That happens at any level of football. Based upon down, distance, team strength etc. But if the players were complaining about this I'm pretty sure it was a little more specific than that.

whether or not it is an issue, the smart response by the team to the public is to play it down. The team's outward messaging should be consistent on downplaying any issue like this. That does not mean it can't be acknowledged and addressed in house. TBH, if he said, "Yes, they knew our plays and it is a problem" and I were Deuce, I would fire him on the spot.

So kinda like Tomlin downplaying the fact that they cannot run and fixing it the way they did. Hmmm makes sense. Oh wait a minute. I think a more realistic thing to say is there is a lot of things said and shouted on the field and sometimes they are right. We try to fight our tendencies and call better plays. It is unfortunate that I'm not that competent and I should probably have my mic unplugged. - R. Fichtner.

It is typical corporate style public relations. Ever watch another team's presser? It isn't very often you get "Playoffs? Don't talk to me about playoffs." level stuff. Most pressers are deflections and non-answers.

BTW - Have you ever read Tony Dungy's book "Quiet Strength"? It is very good (although I do warn he is very open about his faith and that may turn some off). Anyway, in one chapter he talks about when he first took over Bucs as well as his time with the Vikes and some different ways HC's want their public messaging to be handled. It is not detailed, but plenty of insight. I do suggest the book to any football fan btw. It isn't about football per say but there is plenty of peeks behind the curtain.

I think Randy is smart enough to side-step publicly. I don't think he is good enough to be the team's OC. I'm sure he has more knowledge than most here on this board but he isn't competing against anybody here. He has proven he is amongst the lowest of his peers and that would be othe NFL teams OCs.

After Uncle Kinky Todd, I think they promoted Randy largely based upon his relationship with Ben. Im sure he knows enough to help, but he cannot CALL the plays.

No news here whatsoever....All year long coaches and QB's from ALL teams have said the same thing...
