How the hell was Dallas getting all that pressure on FGs without doing anything illegal. Did they magically find a weak spot in teams blocking on FGs?

To me, it looked like they had guys lining up right over the snapper and they were just stepping right over him. If that was allowed then teams would be doing that every damn time.

Also, it's the coaching staffs job to identify what they're doing and correct it. Instead, we avoid kicking a FG and risk losing the game in regulation.

Yeah we have been struggling with up the middle pressure for a moment now... its just nobody blocked anything until today

The more perplexing thing was coverage was getting gashed at time on returns... they have been very good until now.... hopefully it isn’t an exposed weakness

The Cowboys were lined up partially on the guard and was jumping over the center,, a grey area on getting a call

You can jump over the C but you have to jump over him clean. If you touch the C at all, it's supposed to be a penalty. If I was ST coach, i would have my long snapper wear the biggest hand warmer that is legally allowed and have him wear it on his back so that anybody trying to jump him will catch their foot on the huge warmer and draw a penalty.

Nope.

Rule 12-3-1(r) now states that players are prohibited from the following:

Running forward and leaping across the line of scrimmage in an obvious attempt to block a field goal or Try Kick, unless the player was in a stationary position on the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped. A player who is behind the line of scrimmage before, or at the snap, may run forward and leap, provided he does not cross the line of scrimmage or land on players.

landing on the player means touching him. So if you are jumping over the Center it means you have to jump him clean as i said. If you are jumping him and your foot hits his butt or leg or something, it's a penalty.

No. The amended rule mandates that a player can jump all he wants, PROVIDED HE DOES NOT TOUCH ANOTHER PLAYER OR CROSS THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE.
