I'm a Steeler fan from London & will be making my first visit to Pittsburgh and Heinz Field for the Browns game on 31st Dec
Possibly not the ideal first game as we'll have already confirmed top spot & home-field advantage by then after we beat the Patriots but i'm still really excited to finally get to a game. Already preparing my warmest clothes after seeing the -9c / Snow forecast - You guys are probably used to that but its going to be a shock to the system for me! Snow & 0c in London at the moment is a little bit of preparation this week.
I just wanted some advice from people on the best way to make the most of my experience - Any recommendations on the best pre-game/after-game bars, info on how to get involved in tailgate party. Also any tips on good places to go out on the Saturday night would be appreciated & also the best way to see in the New Year in Pittsburgh.
Cheers

Hey man, you are invited to come hang out at my tailgate party. We should be set up by 930.

Are you looking for a college atmosphere or a more relaxed older crowd for bars?

Sounds good - Thanks very much. I'm staying in downtown so I assume I can easily walk over to the stadium from there.
College atmosphere would be good but also happy with relaxed bars. Whatever you can recommend would be much appreciated - I'm 31 y/o if that helps with suggestions.

Well Carson St in the Southside is where most of the college kids and such hang out. It's about 8 blocks of nothing but bars. Check out Carson St. Saloon or Mario's.

You can check out Jerome Bettis's bar right next to Stage AE near the stadium. Then there's other places like Olive and Twist, Howl at the Moon they're on 6th and 7th Street.

Hey, So how was the trip? I'm from North Yorkshire and am loosely planning a trip for next year. Would love to find out what's best to do / not do if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Cheers

Matt
