That’s how I feel. EV’s are right for some people but the govt should not be making EV’s artificially less costly and ICE’s artificially more costly. The issue as I see it is the attitude, mandate possibly, of the government, federal and in some cases states, using the taxpayers money to promote these vehicles.
Let the free market decide, if a product is more efficient, dependable and affordable than what a person is currently using they will buy it.
I have zero issues with those that wish to drive battery cars, just don't tell me that I or anyone else has to. My '97 diesel may outlive me, but I think I may have at least one more new vehicle in me, and that will not be a battery, or double turbo charged 4 cylinder that's just waiting to explode. An American, apple pie V8 will fill my garage. I can only hope they'll still build them.
Exactly they should not be picking winners and losers especially with my tax money. That’s how I feel. EV’s are right for some people but the govt should not be making EV’s artificially less costly and ICE’s artificially more costly.
Except when the Dems are invested in EV and battery companies, and in Terry McAuliffe’s case a govt subsidized EV company that wasn’t even real.Exactly they should not be picking winners and losers especially with my tax money.
This is the kind of idiotic stupidity that happens when the government gets involved with the market.Tesla was first with battery cars. They were awarded a lot of carbon credits. It took several years for other manufacturers to offer their versions of battery cars. Tesla made a lot of money selling their carbon credits to companies like Stellantis because they were hooked on selling hemi v8s. Their profit margins were so high they could build the v8 , pay the penalty to the government for producing a gas guzzler, pay Tesla for carbon credits, and still profit. Tesla made more money selling carbon credits than selling cars.
Gee, what is it called when a government gets involved with our tax dollars and doesn't let the free market of capitalism run it's course?
Insane stupidity? Oh, you're looking for the word "Socialism." My guess is more honest.Gee, what is it called when a government gets involved with our tax dollars and doesn't let the free market of capitalism run it's course?
Can you charge it at home? The same car a year ago was $20K more. And with a three year lease I won’t get stuck with a dead battery in 8 years. Plus I have my Alfa if I need to hear an engine.
