Apparently Brent Grimes' wife is pissed at the NFL for docking her husband his appearance fee for the Pro Bowl as a result of him missing a practice to be by her side when she had oral surgery. Brent was given permission by Garrett and the NFL, but it seems the NFL didn't know that it had given such permission. In any event, she goes on an EPIC twitter rant.

Should we title this "Black Wives Matter"?

Wow. Didn't know that race was an issue. Seems to me that the lady made some valid points (even if it was a rant). But yeah, let's focus on her race because that's what's important.

Some people need to know when to keep their mouths shut. She isn't doing her husband any favors acting like a teenage brat that didn't get the Range Rover she wanted for her sweet sixteen. Just my opinion though...

Edit: If he has a problem with it, he can do the twitter rant :-)

True enough. Valid points. But, if he does the twitter rant, there's always the threat of league reprisal. I do wonder if he was "unaware" of the rant.

I agree that she isn't doing her husband any favors but there is an element of truth to what she is saying. Not entirely but partial.

I'm sure they could reprimand him anyway if they really wanted to based on her actions, even if it isn't "official". Even if he were the one to do the rant, at least it would mean something more to me. The way she conducted herself has me not giving a damn what happens. Honestly, I'd love to see them fine him for the cost of a muzzle and some oven mitts perma-glued to her wrists, but I'm probably in the minority on that one. I'm all for people standing up for themselves if they have a problem with something, and even though she's his wife, it's his job and his responsibility to voice any concerns he has. Her voicing her displeasure likely won't resolve any issues (especially acting like that), but will more than likely make things worse/more difficult for Brent.

I coin a phrase to support Mrs. Grimes' stance that supporting your wife is more important that pro bowl practice and this is the thanks I get.

If I'm getting you correctly, you're saying that a majority of the message is lost by both the manner it was transmitted and the person who transmitted it. I agree on those points. Even if she was the one making the statements, they would be better received and understood had she not cursed and ranted. And of course, the message would have been better coming from him or more likely his agent. Probably would have been handled in a more satisfactory way had they followed protocol.

That said, some of the things she states about the NFL are obviously true. And, if she herself has names/incidents to show where the NFL is still acting in a manner that covers up domestic violence and/or where concussion protocols are being violated, I'd at least like to hear of them. Preferably in an article or interview rather than a twitter rant.

I'm not disagreeing with the points. It's why I didn't comment on them directly. One of those situations where the phrase "actions speak louder than words" comes to mind. I'm a firm believer in handling things civilly, if possible. He's the one who makes the money. His action was the reason for being docked the money. Yes, it had to do with him being by her side for an oral surgery procedure, and yes, it seems he was given the go ahead to miss the practice without worry of having his paycheck rescinded. In that situation, I feel there are multiple avenues for him to travel down in an effort to get the money back he feels he deserves. A rant the day after the event is hardly an appropriate action, whether by him or her. My point is that even though it could be argued that this cash could have a direct impact upon her, that it's not her responsibility to potentially draw negative attention to the subject. IF they had exhausted all reasonable options and the NFL was reluctant to compensate him over a misunderstanding somewhere along the line, then posting publicly would be a bit more reasonable. Still would prefer that the information come from Brent Grimes or his agent who is paid to handle these things in the best manner possible.

Want to be clear, the oven mitts comment was directly correlated to texting/typing....not having her get in the kitchen and make some food. I laughed when I thought it might be interpreted that way, but that is not the case. Thought I'd comment on it so as to clear things up for any confusion that might come of it.

****, that's a pair of Jimmy Choo's!!! I didn't marry you and put up with this football bullshit to not get some extra money for Jimmy Choo's! You get right with your team or Imma take off and you owe me your *** in child support and be playin' until you're as old as Adam Vinateri.

(I used to watch Sex In The City a lot. Kim Cattrall. Damn.)

She has many valid points, but the way she presented them, well, lets say she caused some to tune her out.
