Does anyone else think it's time to quit caring?

I care enough to be upset about the loss in this game, which in my opinion is as bad as or worse than San Diego in 1994. Back then we had the excuse that we didn't have a solid QB.

The players don't care enough to quit running their mouths off, to quit complaining when they don't get the ball, to quit complaining that they don't make enough money when they make in a season what most of us won't make in a lifetime.

The coaches don't care enough to put together a credible game plan.

The owners don't care enough to hire competent coaches and insist on something better than mediocrity.

Right now, the only people that seem to care are the fans, who control nothing.

The loss still eats at my gut but there are higher priorities to worry about these days. If I was in my 20s I'd be patching holes in the wall tomorrow. :)

I hear ya. That was me some years ago too. I wouldn’t be able to go to work tomorrow back then. Now, not so much and it’s getting worse with where the league is any more.

This isn't too hard to take. Watching the NFL do everything they could to hand the Pats the win next week would have bothered me much more. So I guess this loss didn't bother me much because their chances of winning next week were slim to none anyway.

Eh at the end of the day I have no control of the outcome.
If my team wins, great. I'm happy.

If they lose. They lose. Doesn't linger as much as my teenage days.

I take it strictly as entertainment these days. Today it was bad entertainment which is why I pretty much stopped watching mid way into the 2nd quarter except for an occasional check in.

It eats at me with the talent on this team and will continue. I do agree many players could care less of winning for us screamers at the TV. My don't care is ho w and what the NFL has become. Such suspect officiating, all the fines and extra crap off the field. Watching the Pats and Vicking's game I wonder how our ref crew got on the field. They called nothing that was on the field, so why is this, such inconsistency. I have learned tomorrow is another day and it sure does not effect the players so why think of it beyond today.

I probably will be caring a lot less once Ben hangs it up and the league will keep going to ****. Each year the playoff losses get a little easier, Getting used to it.

You're nuts if you think this team didn't care.

I think they do. I also think High School girls care about puppies that are cold.

Honestly I understand where ExUSAF is coming from. We the fans discern it as they don't care.

The thing behind it all is. They have the tools and the means to play better and they don't. They have great players, yet the coaching staff isn't stepping up to make the team better. No Turnovers, We knew they would try to run it on us. Did that lead to passing breakdown or turnovers no. They ran it up our *** and asked if we wanted some more. We can blame the departure of shazier. or We can blame the coaching staff. I for one put it on the coaching staff. All of them.. But then Haley at least had his offense put up over 30 points.

I always look at it this way, if the Steelers lose, I have to get up and go to work tomorrow.
If the Steelers win, I have to get up and go to work tomorrow.

Seeing your team win does give you something to look forward to the next week though.
But I'm over the loss.

Been a fun season with you guys on SN.

One of the benefits of getting older.....a different perspective. Yeah I was kinda pissed at the outcome, but 10 minutes after the game I was already over it. Better luck next year.

Those players left it on the field. They cared. They were robbed by their incompetent bosses

I disagree about the defense. They got bitchslapped for the 80% of the game. The offense put up 42 points at home against a top 2 defense, and we got beat down. I'd like to think the defense with the most sacks in team history could've got one sack today; or been able to bring a runner down within 4 yards of first contact 80% of the time.

Fun thing about being a sports fan in general.
The get togethers with family and friends.

The live broadcast. The unpredictability, the highs and lows of the game.
Brings a certain rush.

So of course I care in that aspect. But also at the same time you step back and realize its just entertainment.
Enjoy being fans guys. Steelers football will be back by September

The Steelers brass doesn't care as evidenced by the continued employment of Haley and Tomlin so why should we care?

I just figure we are spared the humiliation of getting another beatdown from the Pats***** next week. If by some miracle we had won then Br*dy would have put up 60 or 70 points on us.

I stopped really being bugged by this **** after all of the cheating **** done against us with the pats*****. And the ***** rules of defensive engagement in trying to tackle and hit people. I think I've read one too many books on cheating in sports(all of them)with most of it being gambling related. I enjoy what I can about it,but I see it as just entertainment and not a fully legit sport. I think that died some years ago.

I always go back to this scene from "Fever Pitch".

You're nuts if you think this team didn't care.

Then maybe I'm nuts but I see too many players on this team who don't care enough about the team to keep their mouths shut and play the game. I watched a running back we knew was getting the ball drag half our defense for another 5 yards and a first down. I watched a mediocre QB carve us up on their first drive with nobody within 5 yards of any of the receivers on most of the passes. We have players - and coaches - tweeting and talking trash about the Patriots before this game. We had our starting running back talking - the week before this game - about not playing next year if he's franchised again. We had our "franchise" QB with 5 interceptions in the first game talking about how he wanted a rematch. I hate the Pats as much as anyone on this board but that kind of talk is not tolerated there and the talk, and lack of performance on the field, tells me that too many of the players on this team only care about the next paycheck or their personal stats.

One thing is glaringly obvious - Jacksonville has a much better chance of winning next week than this bunch and I personally don't think they have any chance at all.
