Dobbs or Jones?

Ben retires and the team subsequently nose dives to 6 and 10. Then in the draft they pick a QB.

The Steelers will not take a projected starting QB until they tank a couple seasons AFTER Ben retires. If they had been planning for Ben's last year, that QB would already be on the team. Ben will ride off into the sunset, the brain trust will then go out and dust off a has been QB and continue trying to win, while losing. After a couple more Kent Graham's, they will take a serious look at a QB, but will not catch fire again with this group of coaches and front office people. Tomlin and Colbert will finally be exposed as sub par once Ben is gone.

Seriously, if they keep playing like this they could draft the future QB in the next draft. Its supposed to be a QB rich draft class, and many of the teams drafting ahead of the Steelers will not be looking QB.
Chicago, Cleveland, Titans, Dolphins, Colts are all set at QB for the time being. SF will chase Cousins, and Washington will likely be drafting behind the Steelers. Ironically, we may be competing with some familiar teams in this draft for the services of a franchise QB, the Chargers and Giants.

Neither one of those scrubs

Tank a year

#1 draft pick

Cleveland is definitely not set at qb.

Dobbs wasn't brought in to replace Ben, he was brought in to replace Jones.

It's time for Ben to call it a career and this team is going to be horrid in his absence.

Hell, Kordell > Dobbs.

Options are not looking good at this point.

Riley Ferguson, Memphis

Throw all the money at Kirk Cousins.... this team can't develop anything.

If we let Tomlin and Colbert keep picking QB's in the draft and hope that's our answer we'll be waiting a LONG time....

I thought the team looked good on paper this year. Really did. I thought some of the last second acquisitions were solid. I still have hope this is just typical Tomlin early season issues and by November we'll be a lot better.

14 years in the league for Ben, fall off in play is to be expected. The coach and front office should have already drafted a guy to be grooming to take over.

Who should replace Ben when it’s time? I’d rather have Dobbs.

None of the above. Best answer Drew Brees who is a free agent next year if Ben retires or a 1st round pick.

at the dust settles from yesterday, they have to ride Ben for the rest of the season. Good Ben or Bad Ben, he's their only option moving forward. Dobbs and Jones are not capable starters or even back-ups. We can't really think of 2018 and beyond until the last game of this year. I'm hoping they have a plan, but there is only so much they can do and they need to start playing like a championship caliber team NOW.

Cousins isn't a franchise QB. He'd be more like a Neil O'Donnell type of QB. Not sure if they will even consider drafting a QB in the 1st round this year as there probably won't be anyone there to pick when we finally pick. I see us with 5 or 6 losses this year and that won't get you near the best QB's unless you get lucky like Dallas did with Dak. Then again, who knows, we might lose 8 or more this year. I really have no confidence in this team. The coaching is horrible. Play calling is terrible on both sides of the ball. We can't stop the run and we haven't faced a good QB yet. I can only imagine how bad our D will be against a team that can run and throw the ball. I see Green Bay and New England putting 40+ on the board.

What will the chiefs do with Alex Smith or their rookie Pat Mahomes? If they win the SB with Smith, then maybe they trade away Mahomes. If they come up short, maybe they deal Smith.

I don't know about the issue with QB's. Virtually all QB's worth a damn, with a few exceptions, are taken outside the first couple of rounds. I don't think either drafted Dobbs or Jones thinking they were going to be long-term starters.

They will never trade Mahomes, Any Reid loves him. Would love to see Smith with all the Steeler weapons, he has always played on teams lacking in weapons and now that he has the weapons he is looking incredible. He is only a year younger than ben but he has incredible quickness and elusiveness and he is a student of the game unlike Ben.

Dobbs or Jones?

that's like asking do you want a root canal without novocaine or a vasectomy by a doctor with Parkinsons

is the doctor female and hot?

if so this is my pick

as she won't remember me staring at her ***

The offense is weaker without Ben, but the D holds their own well to date with or without Ben playing. I don’t see GB or NE with a 40burger on us.

LOL, never mind that you might not have a package left to do anything with after she gets done chopping away down there.
