Dick is out.

His lions jersey is the only non Steelers jersey I have ever had. A true legend in my opinion

Dick Lebeau changed the NFL... many if his concepts are now staples... its a shame that the cheatriots made disguised blitzes mostly irrelevant... AI hope his post football days are outstanding.. he deserves it

The league has pretty much figured out DLB's defense.

I don't think it has been figured out as much as the players needed to run it are not readily available anymore. With the college game becoming much more about speed and passing, you are not seeing the DL at the college level that you need to maximize his scheme. If you have a solid NT and 2 competent DE, that scheme can still work. But, it relies on the DL taking up more than one OL, without that you are not getting pressure on the QB from the LBs or DBs.
 
Tough to see him go out this way, but the guy has had an unbelievable career.
