So that is two poached by other teams.

Good luck Big Dan.

Kid is a from near me...always wanted him to succeed but just doesn't have the lateral moves on the line to make in the NFL. I wish him well chasing the dream.

Never forget seeing him up-close in camp man has some tree trunks for legs.

I think he was always sort of a gentle giant just didn't translate onto the field. Make him mad in a dark alley probably would be a much different result.

he would probably miss the tackle

I don't spend a lot of time in a dark alley but when I do I spend it teasing Dan McCullers........................................

Good luck to him in his "Life's Work" weather it be another team or other.

Salute the nation

He was just big but not all that good.

seems to me we have a spot open on our Practice Squad

why not go get HaHa Clinton-Dix?

I will drop this here.

In other Tuesday transaction news, the Steelers named wide receiver Deon Cain, outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott, defensive end Henry Mondeaux, and running back Wendell Smallwood as the team’s four protected practice squad players for Week 3.

This marks the third consecutive week that Elliott, Mondeaux and Smallwood have all been listed as being protected on the Steelers practice squad. Its the first time that Cain has been protected this season.

per SD.

Oh well, it was pretty obvious at this point that Shade Tree was not a significant part of the team's plans. Just Another Guy. Good Luck in the future.

goodbye palm tree... best of luck

Bears have poached DT Daniel McCullers from the Steelers practice squad

Im going to say Big Dan will see considerable playing time the rest of this year.

John Jenkins their nose tackle has an injured Thumb. He wasn't setting the word on fire in the first two games anyway.

I hope the best for him.

Alualu has been a force for us in the middle.

Out of all the players that surprised me this year for the Steelers he tops the list.

Technically I don’t think we released him but he terminated the contract to sign with the Bears. Good luck Big Dan.

You're right, and it looks like that is the way the poaching is done this year. A team has interest in a PS player, notifies that team, and the team then terminates the contract so they can sign a new contract with their new team. It is very player friendly transaction.

this makes some sense and may have always been this way if the player has the right to refuse the offer from the other team. I don't know if they do and I don't know any reason why a player would not take the shot for a spot on a 53, but the contract is probably written so that the player makes the "legal" request to terminate. Maybe one of the board legal beagles might know better.
