Couldn't we have listed AB as "doubtful" yesterday?

....even if all involved knew there was almost no chance of AB passing the NFL concussion protocol? At least it would have kept the Donkeys uncertain, and force them to somewhat prepare for the possibility....

I am sure one day isn't a make or break it in regards to preparation.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a suspicion that the NFL protocol staff's findings are made public on that date. I wonder if it would have made it punishable if the Steelers would have listed him as anything other than "out" for the game. Just a stab in the dark. Anyone research this, or know of any other reason for the announcement? Would roster moves also play into the timing?

I was going to make a thread about the Steelers and injury reporting in general. In the future outside of Ben, if someone is saying I'm good after an injury, I'm just thinking he is out. Like Williams, he said he was good to go last week, he is still out. This seems to happen time and again. Ab after the game- No problem. Yeah there is a problem.

Concussion protocol is done by non team specific doctors, in other words, the neurologist says he's a no go on day x, he's a no go. It's not like other injuries. Multi million, and potentially billions of dollars ride on them not ******* this concussion stuff up going forward.

Doubtful is essentially the same as out. It's not like he could have been listed as "questionable" and then called a game-time decision.

Yes and there are huge fines if the NFL knows you are purposefully withholding injury info like that... its almost impossible to prove in most cases, but here you have an independent doctor so....
