Be awesome to see Cortez make "comeback player of the year". If he rebounds and can lock down the better receivers or at least slow them down maybe pick off 5 passes our secondary stiffens up a lot. Better cover makes for more sacks more sacks makes for better coverage... Chicken and the egg kinda thing but this defense is building into something special. A really good draft and a couple guys like Cortez stepping up should put it over top back where it belongs as one of the best.

He got in trouble when the cracked down on contact. That said he would of excelled if he played for the Seahawk's or Bronco's. The contact the ref's allow them to get away with is crazy. He would of fit right in.

He won't start or get starters money anywhere. So he can stay in Pitt and probably get a roster spot game day cheque or if there has been enough drama and acrimony behind the scenes he can take his bonus and try to find work somewhere else.
