Tomlin has been on record as saying He calls the defense differently when Ben is starting, and yesterday with a decent # of backups, they played really well outside that first drive, playing downhill and physical. I'm worried he'll play it alot more safe this Sunday, same for the offensive side of the ball, I hope that wasn't a case of just letting it rip and seeing what Mason can do, and we go back to a total quick pass offense.

My concern is more that they will let Layne see the field if Haden can't go.

His stock is trending down IMO.

But this is secondary to:

Ben finally having a good half rust being present with a week off.

I think Sutton is the guy without Haden. Im not concerned with rust from Ben, he had an entire year off and played very well when he came back.

True but overall December wasn't a good month for him. Hopefully it is the second half against the Colts Ben come Sunday night.

Agreed, I'm also hoping that second half vs Indy kind of lit a fire under the coaches ***** to and saw, hey we can throw it downfield to open **** up.

I didn't see a difference, other than the lack of talent with our starters being out on D. I did like the fight in the young LBs and DLs trying to keep roster spots for next year. I will tell you, we do not need to draft any DLs next year!

Agreed - except your love for blow up Ben. He needed yesterday off but his *** better be practicing w/ the WR's every day this week except Wednesday!!!

I'm concerned because Tomlin is coaching and him and his assistants call the defenses and most of the offensive plays. Which means without 3 turnovers this game Sunday will be an all too narrow victory or a loss. And we will all be back here next Monday or the Monday after latest wondering what happened to the season. Some of us will blame Tomlin. Others will apologize for him and say it was injuries or Ben or other players execution. And the world will keep on turning and the Steelers will keep employing Tomlin and we will all be back for these masochisms in time for next season.

I am more concerned if Tomlin lets Fichtner write the game plan for next Sunday nite. Tired of being down multiple scores before that change it up.

But lets be realistic here. Do you honestly believe that is going to happen. They were bleeding out on a three game losing streak including a home loss to the WFC and a embarrassing loss to the Bungles and they still brought it out against the Colts. No way that changes Sunday.

Yes, that is my greatest fear. That the Steelers will come out on Sunday and start with the 3 yard passes **** and the Browns will just load up the line and shut down the offense AGAIN.

The fact that the Steelers have put out a tiny bit of tape of them actually throwing the ball downfield may cause teams to stop and think, just for a moment, that they may actually have an offense.

I also fear that too many fans and possibly some Steelers are already looking pas the Browns to the 2nd round. This team has essentially gotten it's *** kicked the last 5 games. They "managed" to overcome their own ineptitude against Indy, but barely. Honestly, they are one miraculous comeback from being a wildcard team that is dead in the water momentum wise.

If they aren't looking at the Browns playoff game as the Superbowl, they're likely going to lose.

And before you all rush out and say "they changed things up and dominated the Colts in the 2nd half and the Browns barely beat the Steelers 2nd squad, keep in mind the Colts were playing prevent for a good chunk of the 2nd half because it was pretty much inconceivable that the Steelers could actually come back given the entire 2nd half of the season and let's all put in perspective that the Browns ALSO had quite a few guys out due to covid AND they only got 1 day of practice before the game.

Ole Ebron BETTER not be looking at the room service menu in Tampa Bay hotels this week.

Looking past the Browns would be a huge mistake.. we've seen this team do it in the past with the Jaguars game. Is Tomlin looking ahead and preparing for Patriots still?

I think 3 of their 4 top DB's were out, and 2 LB's. I think they may have been score board watching because we didn't see much of Chubb in the 2nd half, at least it didn't seem like it.

I hear yaz but Oh what a ROLE reversal, Browns just played their SB against the Steelers and 1 week turn around and the STEELERS are playing their SB against the Browns.

Anything can happen and that's why they play the game but I'm sticking (and wig, I know you are too) with my STEELERS over the Browns and into rnd 2.

Salute the nation

Relax, Michelle...this team will be fine and so will the coaching staff.

Jacksonville has been in the playoffs exactly twice in the last fifteen seasons (2007 and 2017). They have three postseason wins in that time period. Two of those are against Tomlin and the Steelers.

If they were scoreboard watching they were idiots... had the Browns lost yesterday they were out of the playoffs... it would have been them tied with miami and miami holding the tiebreaker... wed be playing the colts this week minus haden...

That Cleveland coach is Getting lot of praise but if he was here he’d be universally hated... he makes a ton of questionable moves... like the fourth down gambit yesterday and routinely benches Chubb for a less effective package with Hunt...

Just remember Berm, Ben has never had a losing season. And he's had to carry the dead weight of Tomlin practically his entire career.

Did you get your blow up Saban from the same website?

In 2006 Ben went 7 and 8...

Last year he went 0 and 2...
