Combative, confrontational people

Backhanded dig at Bush & a couple others? Absolutely...He says what he says with intent...MT been starting **** for weeks now & sending messages about competition & playing time...

But of course Tomlin has nothing to do with us winning 6 out of 8...

No, not you guys.

Says MT about Robinson and Leal.

Backhanded dig at 55? Perhaps not, but I say yes. And, deservedly so.
What I saw yesterday out of our starting ILBs, Bush is gone and we're not going to make him an offer in FA.

Robinson started
Spillane didn't come off the field
Jack was used situationally on passing downs.

Bush didn't get into the game until the 3rd QTR, and then was only mildly affective.

Spillane 9 tackles 8 solo TFL
Robinson 7 tackles
Bush 2 tackles

I expect Bush to be benched again this week and just before FA, we re-sign Spillane.

Mickey has been logging a ton of time the past few games. Great to see that gap finally filled but we definitely need depth there to spell the guy.

Great analogy, thanks Stryker

I too, don’t see Bush com ing back. He just doesn’t have “it”. To many times I’ve zeroed in on his play only to see him taking it off or trying to play “catch up” to the play.

Robinson hasn’t disappointed as a thumper as of yet.

Robinson got his 2nd game and looked to get more snaps even with guys healthy and he was flying around. He had a nice TFL and was in on other plays as well. Let the kid play next week. I didn't see Jack in the game much. Spillane played well against the run but can't cover and Bush is still just a total bust. I wouldn't even bring him back at league minimum.

Thing is, they traded two picks to move up ten spots in the first round to draft Bush, who turned out to be third round talent.

I don't think Bush is a total bust he is at least a mid tier backup. I think most of his issues are mental. He just doesn't have the drive to be a football player Spillane reminds me of Larry Foote after he lost a step. Not the biggest or fastest, but just solid. Foote in his prime was better in coverage, but even after Foote slowed down he was able to stick around for a while just due to his football sense. Robinson definitely has some potential hope the team lets him show it. Not sure what to do about Jack. I feel he should be on the field, but who do you take off. I imagine if we play a heavy passing team jack would see more time

If only bush had Spillane effort and dedication

He is taking on blocks and shredding them. Against a running team IMO already clearly the better option. Against a passing team you can chess piece Edmunds closer provided he is resigned. I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of Bush's stay.

Alex Kazora had a tweet showing Robinson mis diagnosing the play and taking false steps, but still recovering to make a solid tackle. Something the more athletic Bush could never do:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls him Mickey...

On the real though, Spillane played excellent ball last night. He's a keeper.

We're going to have to have a similar game plan for Chubb next week...

Dang that’s a great video. Definitely a nice recovery whereas Bush it would have been tail-chasing.

Robinson will have a role next season ands will start the last game this. He is making something with his opportunity.

We have got to call him Mickey. Some things are just preordained.

Many of us here thought that Bush was not starting material this season, yet Tomlin continued to start him for 15 weeks. Many of us also thought that Robinson deserved a chance to play much sooner. It only took the head coach almost 4 months to figure that out.

Just curious: Did Tomlin have anything to do with the Steelers losing 6 out of their first 8?

No, but I'm pretty sure Tomlin injured TJ Watt so he couldn't play half the year... ;)

Bush lost all instincts and willingness as Baldy said to be violent. I will admit overall he had a better year then I expected and he does have coverage skills. I don't want him back. I would roll with Robinson, Spillane and Jack. Though I think injuries pumped the break on Jack because he regressed. I would still use a draft pick on an ILB. Robinson has proven he can stuff the run. Not cover. I question if he will be a three down guy.

Tomlin needs to start consulting TJ Watt for some good Tomlinisms. Watt's "throwing his face in the fan" comment about Robinson was perfect.
