Clifford was a big recruit. He was an elite 11 guy. He has the skills but you have to give a guy a chance to develop. I think the OL will be the limiting factor this year.

I'm not expecting Penn State to win the Big Ten this year playing so many underclassmen

I don’t think Clifford is the limiting factor.. if you watched that first half, almost every play was either a run or some dink/dunk within a few yards of the LOS or even horizontal. Rahne was absolutely dreadful in that first half, and as soon as he let Clifford unload downfield, it was over.

What scares me is not the offense.. it’s that Buffalo was able to run effectively between the tackles and guys were getting open on Castro-Fields. Hoping it’s just that that Nunn kid is excellent and TCF is going to improve significantly..

Not sold on Clifford either. But, I hate the system and play calling they are running now. They had no running game yesterday at all. It was a good thing Clifford came to play in the 2nd half as he carried the entire offense. They need to figure out how to get their very talented backfield running the ball better than that.
