Is it just me, or does it seem like McCarthy is hiring more assistants than were on Tomlin’s staff? Could it be that they’re entering the 21st century. Or is it just my imagination?

Yinz haven’t been following the coordinator thread? When it is all said and done it will be a larger group.
Seems like they are being attention to detail in trying to fit puzzle pieces. That is the look so far..

Tomlin just hired guys to fill spots, strictly yes men that wouldn’t challenge him, but John Candy is hiring coaches for specific needs and expanding the staff. I actually like what he’s doing with his coaching staff.
I think the approach not only gives them a chance to develop players but also gives them a fighting chance to zoom in on individual players and schematics to put the best possible on the field.
Going to be equally important that they nail free agency and the draft. There shouldn’t be depth concerns when the days are done.
Too many times I have said oh this position needs this and it didn’t produce. Change needs to be in-depth attention to detail and more importantly producing the depth results as well as the coaching results.
