Coaching and the Rooney's

The people I hold most responsible for this mess are the Rooney's. Their patience and loyalty and consistency is one of the main reasons they have flourished for decades but it's also one of the the reasons why they have underachieved. Ultimately the buck stops at the top. For as pathetic as Tomlin is from both and X & O standpoint and from a disciplinary standpoint, if the Rooney's continue to allow guys like Porter, Butler, and Tomlin coach then the Rooneys are to blame. Leveon is selfish buti inagine if Tomlin managed his team better and employed more discipline then Bells selfishness might have been tempered just enough where he would have signed a deal. If Tomlin managed his team better and demanded more from his players they may be more prepared because he forced them to study their opponent more. Hey if you want to play I expect you to put in X amount of time and if you don't like it then I'll start the backup. The players do not fear him. You are not supposed to like your coach. You are supposed to respect him and fear him. But in the end the Rooney's enable Tomlins inadequacies. I kind of wish a guy like Tepper bought out the Rooney's so excellence was expected first instead of consistency first. The Rooney's have confused consistency with Excellence. Tomlin will only change or leave when he is forced to. Our team will not win another SB for a long time. My guess is Tomlin will be there for the end of Ben's career and maybe a couple years after. It might take four losing seasons before he leaves. At that time Ben will be gone, AB will be old, and our line will be broken down and on it's last legs. Just wait until the offense sucks as bad as our D. We will turn into the Browns in the next 5 years. It's sad and the Rooney's are to blame. The fans should make a stand and not buy crap and not go to games and start a Fire Tomlin campaign. Eventually fans will be powerful if they organize and don't buy but my guess is everyone will just ***** and do squat about it. Look on the bright side.....maybe they will hire Jim Caldwell or Lovie Smith to replace Tomlin.

No I'm not Coach. Just a thoughtful, concerned, angry, disgusted, and smart fan. I appreciate your sarcasm though (not really). Personally I felt a new thread was perfectly fine because 90% of the people who want to place blame, place it on the coach or the GM and give the Rooneys too much of a free pass (outside of the Rooney Rule B's). I wish more people held the owners more accountable. 6 championships delude too many fans into thinking the Rooneys were and are the ****. Great organization but frankly they have gotten outcoached and outhired by the ******* Pats. Excellence is not the standard with this ownership.....it's consistency. Sometimes you have to say **** to consistency and shake things up and the Rooney's don't so it enough. Clearly down in Washington you see what a mess inconsistency brings but the Steelers are the other end of the spectrum. I'm tired of underperforming.
