Because the Bengals were down, Dalton and their offense had to take riskier drops and not try to be cute with underneath screens and quick passes. They needed to make some big plays which meant deeper dropbacks for Dalton and more time for the blitz to get home.

The Bengals were missing two of their starting O Linemen and one backup was a rookie; it showed. I’d like to think this reinvented Defense will do the same against Lamar Jackson but that remains to be seen. I just hope the Steelers possibly learned something from the Browns thumping of the Rats.
