Justin Layne says that his strength in practices has been his physicality against the run. But the Steelers brought him in for his ability to read and jump routes while being aggressive on the ball.

Justin Layne

Layne hasn’t been horrible, but there are definitely things he needs to work on. His technique can be poor at times and he needs to be more involved against the run. Layne’s lean, lanky frame leads to a lack of functional strength, and he needs to get stronger if he wants to be able to shed blocks in the NFL.
