Thats equivalent to 76 regular-season game tix at $120 apiece

Yeah, think it's safe to say I will never be going. Unless a ticket is gifted.

Haha yep i hear that. Only way I could pull that off w/my own money is if I had a terminal illness that rendered me dead before the next Super Bowl, the Steelers were in it and I had to spend my cash some how some way before I died haha. As things are now, yeah, it would have to be a gift from someone

I find the headline misleading. There is NO way everyone going is paying (or their company is paying) 9k plus. We found tickets for 43 for under 2k, but we did know someone. But there is no way you needed 10k to make this game.

I went to one and it cost me $40 for end zone seats.

Fans are not paying that price. That price is not a true reflection of supply / demand.

Pretty sure that just means that's the price on StubHub right now...the keywords in the article were "secondary market". It doesn't mean every ticket sold was over $9k. I would hope any sports fan would know the face value for the cheapest seats wouldn't be $9k+.

No way are they that much. I've went 3 times and they were 2400, 2300, and 1350.

I had a chance to go to the last super bowl we won, but I was getting married two months later. Cost would have been around $3,500 for the ticket, hotel, and travel. I go back and forth sometimes as I'll likely never see the game.

Happy wife = Happy life....most of the time.

Closest I ever came to going to a Super Bowl was when we played Dallas in 1979 in Super Bowl XIII. A guy I worked with at Cape Canaveral had tickets that he ultimately sold for $160 apiece. Parking near the stadium would have been around $50 since the old Orange Bowl didn't have public onsite parking and enterprising residents of Miami rented driveways. Wish I had gone but it is what it is.

I would never pay anything over face value. That's what big screen HD tv's are for..:)

Tell your wife it needs to be "happy spouse, happy house. . . "

You know how many hookers Supe could get with that kind of cash.

Geez didn't pay that much when I went to 40 and 43 that's insane!

A lot more very wealthy people in Boston and Seattle than Pittsburgh and Arizona is my guess.

I hear Patriot fans from the country England, get a two pound discount.

We went to upper Bowl 9 , 20.00dollars, times have changed. God-del is always feeding the BS line he cares for the fans yet the fans that support the teams during the year have a slim chance to get to the Super Bowl.

This ******** roger godel preaches dept to the fan? What about his dept to the fan as in owing us FAIR games? Fair pricing? Fair officiating? on and on and on............... The "rog" means less than horseshit, to me!!!!! I'll probably never get to a Super Bowl as I'd have to win the lotery or something of that nature. Then ONLY if the STEELERS were in it and even then questionable if i would go. The nfl is a losing venture in my eyes. It isn't even real football anymore.

Salute the nation

We went to XLIII and paid 3200 for the pair. It was at the height of the recession, so tickets were lower priced. No way in hell would i pay 9k to go.

My cousin is a Seahawks fan and is going, he paid 11k for two really nice seats right after the NFCCG.
