CBS has us waiting until round 3 for defense

There was rumblings there was interested parties looking at him in the second.

Yeah I had heard that but didn't you feel they reached for this guy though? I was like really, Edmund's? He may work out to be a great pick-up, I hope so. I just don't want Kevin panicking if at 20 our guy is not there, then they run up to the podium and reach for someone. If the Devin's are both gone at 20 which I believe both will be, I'd be ok with Fant.

Our ILB's are the biggest weakness on the team. Vinnie Will is a 2 down guy, was slow to begin with and is getting slower. He plays well against the run and is a good pass rusher. Barron may be a 3 down guy - maybe. But, that is all we have and that's after signing Barron. We still need a true 3 down starter in there and a guy that can replace Vinnie in 2 years, max. ILB is by far our biggest weakness. There is just NO conceivable reason to ignore your biggest need in the draft 2 years in a row. We should be moving up to 15 to try and get Bush. If not, we better get 2 ILB's in rounds 2 through 5 to hopefully groom to be starters.
Couldn't bostic become Vince's replacement? He is a solid tackler and has better range than VW

James played 50% of the offensive snaps. A rookie TE would likely play more than any other rookie selected in 2019.

Because i no longer trust them to draft a day 1 starter at CB?

Didnt Lawrence have some off the field issues?
I agree but they have a better chance of not whiffing on a CB by taking one of the consensus top picks.

if they fell to where we were drafting, I'd take Bush at 1.20 and Mack at 2.20.

The Steelers WOULD draft offense... That's what frightens me.

I’m more frightened of the Steelers drafting a corner. They usually do pretty well drafting offense.

I felt like it was a reach yes. But I do like they snagged who they liked the best. This year I think they set themselves up to have more options instead of focusing on one position...

We didn't outscore enough teams when we had a top five OL, the top RB and top WR in football with a top five ish QB. They have to address the defense, for a change maybe do so without drafting a guy two rounds early? Acquire the right F/A's? If they don't it's gonna be a long season.

Here's the thing - all top 3 corners won't be gone by 1.20 - AND - all three are better than Artie Burns presently and in his past play...
I think in a different year none of them would be a 1st rounder, except Greedy because of his size and measurables.

Murphy and Baker have the talent but lack size and speed, that would pin them in a 2nd level probably behind those classic 6'0/6'1 with 4.40 speed and top school pedigree

I still believe in the BPA approach in the draft but I think we will be looking for a defensive player that can create some turnovers. Last year we were horrible in creating turnovers. Teams who win the turnover battle usually win the game. We also need to get better at protecting the football. And we found out the hard way how important the special teams are.

Written by someone that doesn't know the FO's tendencies on picks based on the patterns of schools, pro-day attendances, interviews, etc that narrows down who they might possibly pick. That mock is based on nothing.

Haden and Nelson will be the starting CB's, so where would you play a CB drafted at #1? You need more than 2 CB's, but I don't see automatic playing time for a CB drafted high.
