For a 2021 third and a conditional pick in 2022.

The conditional pick could turn into a 1st rounder. Not really a bad deal for either side. Wentz is signed as well.

I think the Colts made a great move,..

I wouldn't of mind to see the Steelers do that with Wentz..

I wonder what the cap hit is............. And no, I don't think he replaces BEN.

Salute the nation

They are firmly on the QB merry go round in Indy.

Good pick up, and not a bad price.

Good move for both teams at this point. I also think Reich will be a good coach for a Wentz.

It should be entertaining.

I think it is a step down from Rivers.

Maybe but I still think Wentz has more than he was able to show on a ****** Beagles team. Rivers is a future HOFer and was still playing at a high level. Wentz probably will never get there but they did potentially get their starting QB for the next decade.

not sure ..all I could find was the Eagles were taking a $33.8 mill dead money/cap hit
Probably a good idea to do that now with Hurts/draft/cheap vet this year

Ouch.

I look at it like it's good for the Steelers -- one less team ahead of them in the draft in need of a quarterback.

I’m not seeing this ending well. They gave up 2 picks for the worst QB in the league that makes $35 mil/year. Unless he plays at a pro bowl level immediately, it’s a bad bet. Also, you could have waited a year and he would have been free.

Colts assume what's left of the contract. Philadelphia gets the 35 million in dead cap money.

Sounds like the colts tab for Wentz is 25 million in 2021.
15.4 mill salary and 10 mill roster bonus at start of new league year in March. Eagles eat 33 mill in dead cap this year which reportedly highest ever.

The conditional pick according to ESPN is a second round unless he plays over 75 percent on offense then it's a first or 70 percent and Colts make playoffs. Just what I read, who knows.

How much Dead cap do the Eagles have to eat? On Sportrac it said the last year 2020 77 million, but that cannot be. That is the key to the deal. how much does Philly have to eat.

Colts are a good spot for Wentz. He doesn't need to step in and be THE guy from day one. They have a solid offensive line and a great young back. Hilton is still there along with a potential young stud with Pittman. The defense is solid as well. A strong offseason and the Colts should be the favorites in the AFC South.

Ok this is my question. so basically if he is good the Colts can continue his contract as their starter. If he sucks he is pretty much dust with no lasting cap hit on them. If the draft pick is conditional on them being successful with him, its a very good deal for the Colts.

In terms of the Eagles, I'd assume it's highly likely the Eagles draft a quarterback now.

I'm guessing you're right regarding cutting him if he's bad with no additional money owed. The worst case scenario is he sucks, he still played over 75 percent and they have to give up a first instead of a second. Don't see that happening, if he's stinking up the place, no way he reaches that 75% threshold. So basically I'm in agreement, a worthwhile gamble that could be high reward.
