Not like every play, it's just on in the background, but this shows you how bad I am in football withdrawal.

Do you watch any of it at all? Arena league? I used to watch NFL Europe, but they screwed that all up.

Instead of trying to go global (and going broke) they should have started a minor league in the US, that would play in medium size cities in summer. They don't have to even be medium-sized, they could be in larger cities, just not ones with current NFL teams.

They would be profitable, fill seats and serve as a developmental league, which they could use.

Play from, say, May through June.

I think some target cities would be...Birmingham, San Antonio, San Jose, Orlando, St. Louis, Columbus, Vegas, Tucson, towns like that. That is a league that would work.

I used to watch some NFL Europe. Developed a little fan interest in the Hamburg Sea Devils back in the day lol. The CFL not so much. I think I got a little burnt out on sports with the Pens Stanley Cup run. Too much alcohol. I can take a breather from sports for now

I think as far as a minor league team goes. Too much risk in trying to make it big in a sport like football. The point to a minor league is to develop talent for that next level. College is like that too, but think about the associated risk of playing football for minimum trying to make it big. A lot of top prospects are encouraged to sit out their junior/senior years. So no---I think as a fan its a neat idea. As an owner too much of a risk

I've been watching Rugby. Pretty cool games, although, I'm not always sure what is going on.

7 on 7 rugby has more scoring and short games. 15-on 15 is a very crowded field and longer games.

I watched Arena league for about 2 years. Now I can't stand it. Get free ticket offers quite a bit and still don't go.

I'd rather watch Hurling than this pseudo football bullshit. Watch men play a mens game.

There is nothing wrong with a well played CFL game. Lots if talent there. Lots of scoring. If it's good it's good. But if it is a bad game it is brutal.

I watch some when I can. As said, there is some good talent there and they are used as a developement for NFL. We have had many a player come to "America" to make their fortunes..............

Salute the nation

Well, good for you, because the only sports on are baseball and Neckcar (and golf).

We only have 7 weeks until preseason kicks off. This is the deadest time of year for NFL fans.

It goes like this.......Aug-Sept. Preseason.

Sept-Dec. NFL season.

Jan-Feb. post-season.

March - March Madness.

April - NFL draft.

May-June. NHL and NBA playoffs.

Late June - July. Sports death spiral.

Aug. Preseason again.

Then why did they do NFL Europe?

Never got into Arena either. It's not really the same sport.

Exactly what Ive been begging for for years. Instead the league gives us color rush and pink jerseys.

Then why did they do NFL Europe?

NFL Europe was for players to prove their last shot, but also for the league to develop a presence overseas. The interest wasnt there. As an owner would you want to pour extra money into talent that may get hurt at the minor level? These athletes are an investment, especially in football because its such a brutal sport. I guess you can argue that the athlete is under contract and is always a risk. But why would the league pour more money into a risk like that when they can take a chance with the talent already on their gameday roster?

Because of the number of misses in the draft. There are guys out there who can make it, ((Not saying a ton, but there are) who get passed over because of measureables. If a developmental league exists that would allow more players in the process, and the true football players who mat not be the best in the "underwear olympics" (Combines and Pro days) can emerge. For example many USFLers made it in the NFL after their league folded. Not just the high dollar guys who were signed for credibility like Herschel Walker, but guys like Sam Mills, who wouldn't have had a shot at 5'9". The USFL, though not a developmental league, provided many players a shot.

I agree there is talent out there. There are probably plenty of James Harrisons out there who don't get a shot. I do agree that minor league systems allow guys to get another look, but I just cant see an owner investing in someone in the minors. The league is a lot different now than it was in pre 2010. You look at guys like Marcus Lattimore etc. those are the risk minors and college bring

But as a fan I'm all for a minor league system and would gladly support it
