Burfect suspended 4 games.....the idiocy continues

"Burfict’s appeal will center around the fact that he was on prescribed medication for the concussion he suffered on a hit from Steelers’ wide receiver Ju-Ju Smith Schuster on Dec. 4 as well as the fact that he suffered a Grade 3 shoulder AC sprain during the Detroit Lions game on Dec. 24 and was on prescribed medications for this injury as well, per another source."

Now I think Burfict is one of the dirtiest players in the league, but think he might have a valid case here depending on what the suspension was for.

If it's pain meds, he may be off the hook.

Could be what flagged.

Kirwan and Miller on Sirius was talking with a former GM...Mark Domink maybe... and it was said that he will serve the suspension, almost no chance of appeal going through. Almost all of the PED appeals have been denied, because he was given something not signed off by the club regardless if it came from his doctor. It has to be cleared through the team docs by way of the NFL. What he puts in his body, he is responsible for. Should have checked with team docs first. Plus, if he tested positive, it was after the season....several months past the JuJu smackdown. He's been out of concussion protocol since before the Superbowl.
 
I know he's been suspended multiple times for being a dumbass but hasn't he been busted for PED's before? If so, shouldn't this suspension be for a year?
 
Bengals set up his most recent contract so that if he were to have another suspension, they could void the remaining guaranteed money left to be paid, which currently sits at just over $11 million. So, theoretically, they could cut him and not have much to worry about as far as their cap is concerned

Funny you mention that. Someone quizzed me on why Karl Dunbar was unique to the Steelers when he was hired for the Steelers DL job, and I said "because he was originally drafted by the Steelers?" and he said "no, because he is one of the only players in NFL history to win on appeal for a PED suspension, because he was simply taking a medication for his vitiligo". Anyways, he's a football encyclopedia so apparently Dunbar was w/ the Steelers when the PED suspension thing happened and just thought it was interesting.

So Burfdefect is screwed.
 
He won't win his appeal, Birfdefect will be gone the start of the season. Funny how the schedule works. Wonder if we will not see him in our first meeting???? Maybe the league is showing us favoritism by insuring one of our "stars" isn't taken out on a dirty shot.............. ****

One of the many reasons my interest in the NFL keeps waning. Flagged, fined and suspended for hitting a guy right between the numbers. **** Goodell and the bungals.
