Martavis Bryant became the lead story late Sunday night after the Steelers defeated the Chiefs at Arrowhead, but it wasn’t for good reasons. NFLNetwork’s Ian Rapoport dropped the news on Twitter that Bryant had requested to be traded for a ‘fresh start’. Dan Graziano from ESPN quickly confirmed Rapoport’s story, but clarified that it had […]

Either way not a good look for him. This year he needed to 1. Stay out of trouble and on the field. 2. Produce. Well he has been able to play so far.

In Ray Fittaplado's chat today he confirms they are true. So did Ed Bouchette. The request was made by his agent a couple of weeks ago.

His girlfriend tweeted it's true as well.

Let's face it, we know why Bryant (2nd round talent) was available in the 4th round. He's stupid and selfish. Rumors of his immaturity at Tennessee were everywhere.

It was always worth the flyer to take him in the 4th round. He's a tempting talent. But sometimes guys just don't get it or evolve into professionals. To me, this is a selfish attitude that doesn't quite understand the severity of his drug offenses to how an NFL team prepares and builds a roster. His drug suspensions made/make him completely unreliable. He just doesn't seem to understand that.

Clemson.
Not Tennessee.

Ultimately, as long as he contributes keep him here. Don't care what he thinks. He had a decent game yesterday.

He's under contract cheap through next year. I see no way they get rid of him. Now, if they draft someone high again, you may see something happen but I doubt it. They will probably draft a WR in the first 3 rounds next year anyway as they don't seem to be as stacked as everyone thought. If Bryant lights up the rest of the year, they could try to get a 2nd rounder for him but I doubt they can get any more than a 3rd round pick.

He may have requested a trade, but maybe someone, say like Joe Haden, set the young man straight. "You could be traded to Cleveland. Trust me, you want to stay here!"

Anything he says positive about the organization now is just damage control. In his mind, he's 90% gone already.

?

cat is under contract not sure how he can be gone in his mind, unless it is the residual effects of too much weed intake

First off, whY is his GIR:FRIEND answering any questions? She should know enough to shut the **** up just like Martavious should shut the **** UP. Do they not know where their paycheck comes from and do they care how a statement here or there affects the WHOLE TEAM?? What part of teams concept is so hard to understand?????????? He and his constituents (people around him) obviously will BITE the hand that feeds him.

Kid will stay with the team until his contract is up unless someone throws a 3rd rounder for him Next season.

Ah geez guys. Mellow out.

I'm pretty sure this whole thing is a case of a WR being pissy about not getting enough reps in games and throwing a fit to his coaches behind doors the way it should be done. At least he didn't molest a water cooler in front of America.

Man. I'm just glad he's a competitor. It would be WAY worse if he was happy to sit on the bench and stretch out his arms and get some sun on those warm days.

either way he won't get a 2nd contract with the Steelers

He wasn't getting a second contract either way so if anyone wants to explore this option during the offseason, go for it. Until then, keep your focus and go out and produce.

Expect a hold out next year, because he probably doesn't want to play for $700k for another season. Though that is exactly what he is worth. He makes it through that season, the man will get PAID>
