Browns trade for Tyrod Taylor

Taylor??? Tell me they are going to pass on the top prospects AND free agent QBs! Browns gotta Brown, I guess it’s not funny anymore, it’s just sad.

Very real possibility that they plan to use Taylor as a veteran "bridge" QB until their draft pick is ready to roll out. Makes a lot of sense if that's what their plan is.

No, he is a stop gap. They will draft a QB. And Barkley. Depending on what they gave up for Landry. Add Landry, Gordon, a decent defense already in place, and these guys are gonna be pretty good. I know no one else thinks so, but they could be decent this year, and certainly pretty good in the near future.

Who said they are passing up a QB? Draft one and let him sit behind Tyrod for a year who’s an experienced veteran and don’t throw him into the wolves.

And they traded away Kizer. WTF are they thinking? Kizer could still be their franchise QB. That team is a cluster ****. Maybe they won't take a QB with their first 2 picks. Who knows but I can't believe Taylor would want to go their to be a backup. Also can't believe Landry would want to go their.

Laughed my butt off last night when Jason Taylor was on NFL network and called Cleveland the place where players go to die. Not sure if he meant to say that on air or not but it was funny nonetheless.

I think quite a few around here see them as being better. I think they will get at least 6 wins on the season..

well everyone sucks 50% more in Cleveland so the Tyrod Taylor signing is a thing of beauty!

LOVE IT!

If they draft Barkley and stay healthy, I can see them winning 8-9 games. Maybe more if they catch lightning in a bottle. I read they only gave up a 4 and a 7 for Landry. No way I trade the 1 and the 4 now. Not for anyone. I grab Barkley at 1 and Rosen at 4 and salivate over my future.

Agree 100percent. Just have to see it because Ive probably said it 50 times before. But if you get enough draft picks you will eventually by sheer math put it together.

There hasn't been a descent running back from Penn State since the days of Curt Warner and Franco Harris. It'll be interesting to see what Barkley can do. He's a freak athlete no doubt but that doesn't always equate out to an NFL success & superstardom!

They have to take Barkley #1 now and hope the QB available at #4 is the man. With Landry, Taylor, Barkley they might just be a .500 team.

Hue Jackson will **** it up.

The problem wasn't talent last year. They are losers that can't get out of their own way. Jackson hasn't won anything. Taylor hasn't won anything. Gordon hasn't won anything. Their entire roster is filled with players that are thinking about their next contracts and stepping stones out of Cleveland and onto a winner. That is a hard "culture" to change and Hue Jackson ain't going to do it because he is too much a "player coach" and is an enabler to the players being selfish and thinking about themselves over the team.

In my opinion, Tomlin could be the same way, but our 6 trophies when you walk in the door and the Rooney's ability to at least demand some semblance of accountability still count for something. When you are winning, being a "players coach" isn't always a bad thing and sometimes change is good for the right players that have proven themselves. "Players coaches" on losing programs never work. Never. Most of the time change comes from hard-*** coaches finding the right player (from a winning background) to hitch their wagon too and a LOT of roster turnover, often sacrificing talent for just harder workers that WANT to be there.

Until players want to be in Cleveland, the minute anything goes south the players all bail and start looking out for themselves. That's just the nature of losing franchises.

if whoever they draft has to sit behind taylor....he will really have to suck....

Agreed. He has never shown me that he has any sort of outstanding skill for the QB position. He's a good athlete who is a very sub par passer. That never cuts it at the pro level.

Browns trade Kizer to the Packers for CB Damarious Randall.

I doubt Taylor is their planned started. I bet they will either sign McCarron or draft a QB in the top 4. Maybe signing a QB like Taylor is a sign that they prefer Mayfield and will start featuring RPO in the offense..

Jarvis Landry is a solid player but he's a possession guy. I'm still not scared of their WRs.

I always thought regardless of what happens or who the browns have on their team the Browns will always be......the Browns. However, look at their offensive skill positions If they draft Barkley:
QB Taylor
RB Barkley
WR Landry
WR Gordon
WR C Coleman

There are some dangerous players there. That being said, the whole Browns dispositions has to change, but there are some solid tools for Todd Haley in the offense.

It makes a lot more sense now that they traded Kizer, otherwise I’d say let him be a stop gap while further evaluating him. Browns fans can’t be reassured by any of this but I’m sure they are well beyond that by now. Why do I get the feeling Kizer might flourish in Green Bay?

I think all religion is a complete farce -
But please God. Find a way to keep Saquon from ending up in that shithole

Kizer will flourish in Green Bay. He's going to get the chance that Cleveland couldn't give him. The chance to sit his young *** down, work on developing his craft and to watch a veteran go about his business. And not just any veteran, a HOF QB.

I always thought tyrod was underrated. He is no superstar, but i think he can be capable. If i was the browns i would pick barkley then mayfield. I think mayfield is the safest qb and with the weapons they have the offense could be good
