Browns' Joe Thomas has torn triceps, will have surgery and is out for the season

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns ironman Joe Thomas finally met his match with an injury. He tore his left triceps and is out for the season, a league source told cleveland.com.

An MRI on Monday confirmed the damage, the source said. He will undergo surgery to have it repaired.

The Browns later confirmed the tear, and Thomas himself confirmed the surgery on Twitter.

The man who played through several torn knee ligaments on the way to a NFL-record 10,363 snaps has been felled by the torn triceps he suffered during the third quarter of Sunday's 12-9 loss in overtime to the Titans.

He's the only Brown I ever felt sorry for - throwing away a career on such a pathetic losing **** organization.

Yeah I think Thomas just keeps plugging along. A solid tackle. Wishing for a speedy recovery for him...................

Super sad for one of the few players on Cleveland that I really respected. He Mack, and Hayden were always great football players that gave their all on every play. Even in that toilet bowl.

Joe is the best of the worst in Cleveland. He's a HOFer and he's endured more losses than any football player ever over that streak.

Godspeed Joe, and I'll still respect you when you return. Let us know if you want to try the black and gold on like your former teammate named Joe...

I don't really think too much about Cleveland since they're irrelevant and have been for over a decade. If this is how it ends for him it's a shame, he's been a rock and gave all he had knowing most days they wouldn't even compete. A real class act.
