Brown takes not-so-cryptic shot at Smith-Schuster

Integrity is a big word that I doubt he or his agent knows the meaning of. Totally agree with you that his flame will more than likely burn out sooner than he thinks. I hope JuJu lights it up this year and Conner remains healthy and continues what he started last season.

Mike Tomlin responds:

Did anyone listen to the podcast that included a phone call between Brown and Rosenhaus? It was bizarre.
I did, and like some of the local guys said, there were roughly 5 teams interested, once it was known he wanted a new deal and to be the highest paid wr, only one team was dumb enough to go for it

This is why I'd have traded him to Buffalo if all I got in return was a used jock. He either goes or he sits out three years with no pay.
It's easy to say that, and it's easy for everyone to rip Colbert. The deal on the table was our #20 overall and AB for their #9 overall and their 2nd. I'd make that deal in heart beat.
Here's the problem, once AB knew of the trade he said I'm not showing without a new contract, so Buffalo said **** that.

You could say why did Colbert say anything to AB or his agent, he may have not, but I guarantee you Buffalo's GM discussed it with ABs agent before making the deal, you'd have to if you were a GM getting ready to make that deal.

I think we all knew money was a factor, but Brown actually did a great job of concealing exactly how much of a factor until near the end when he rejected the Bills.

He had to have approached the Steelers about a new contract at some point in 2018, and the Steelers weren't interested.

No, because they'd signed him just a year before AND gave him a huge bonus and THEN they renegotiated his deal and gave him ANOTHER bonus. When Brown says he "got nothin' guaranteed", he's a flat out f'n liar. He got damn near EVERYTHING guaranteed. What a feckin' tool.

I sincerely hope the article mentioning the O-line's response to all this is accurate. When a reporter tweeted that somebody should make a list of all the people who are bashing Roethlisberger the lineman tweeted back "We all making a list. Never forget." I truly hope the line comes out next year on a bonafide mission from God. I hope they can somehow maintain the insane amount of focus and energy necessary to put forth a completely dominant season. I know it a great deal to ask for, but WHAT a great story if the the Steelers manage to go all the way and win it all after Brown leaves and Bell finally signed with his "darling Jets" although he didn't quite get his 100 million.

Wig, GREAT play out that would be and a little topping...................... Big chest PoPs

Salute the nation

It is so funny how WE ALL ONCE LOVED BROWN....He was the kid who did stupid stuff but would realize the error of his ways, ask forgiveness & get in line.

When he said Steeler for life, I truly never saw this coming....

That kid is gone, gone, gone....

This...sad but true...

I don't want to see one of our guys get suspended for knocking the **** out of AB. Let's hire Birthdefect for our next game against Oakland and tell him that AB said something about how he tackled like a school girl and mentioned something really bad about his mother. ;)

If the Steelers and the Raiders finish in the same place at their respective divisions, they will meet at Pittsburgh in 2020. That's the first shot.

If not, other than playoffs, the first meeting between the Steelers and the Raiders will be in Pittsburgh in 2021. I hope he's still a Raider.

That according to FBschedules
