By CJ Lester SteelerNation.com The Pittsburgh Steelers*have made a trade with the*Baltimore Ravens.*Yes, the same Ravens that we all love to hate. The team reportedly agreed to send a 2021 5th round pick to the Ravens for DL Chris Wormley*and a 2021 7th round selection! Wormley fills a need on the defensive line that was […]

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is he the replacement for Hargrave? I don't recall who is supposed to be replacing him

I liked him in college but haven't followed his career since the draft.

We sure like players who played their college ball in Michigan. Don't know the salary yet ..... but we have added a G, TE, DT and S in the last two days..... which address many needed areas
Lets have a nice BPA draft now.......

From his draft bio

Wormley (6’5/298) made 30 starts for the Wolverines, piling up 33 tackles for loss with 18 sacks and first-team All-Big Ten honors from the conference’s coaches as a senior. Wormley has long arms (34 1/8") and big hands (10 ½") and posted the highest SPARQ rating among all draft-eligible defensive linemen with 94th-percentile results. Wormley is old-ish for a rookie (24 in October) and doesn’t show explosive twitch on tape, but he was consistently productive versus top competition, and NFL coaching could maximize his potential. Rotoworld’s Josh Norris has compared him to stud Steelers DE Cameron Heyward.

Maybe they move Cam inside full time with Tuitt and Wormley at DE. Then go to Cam/Tuitt on passing downs.

I t5hink its a SOLID aquisition and is cap friendly.

**** the rats as he is a STEELERS now

Salute the nation

Good to know Wormley was a Steelers fan growing up. Must have been painful putting on the Ratfucks jersey past few years.

Welcome to the Burgh, Chris!

LOL, yeah, this doesn't happen too often. Thank God the ratbirds had a surplus of DL-men, perfect timing.

So I was fishing around some rat thoughts on their message board to get a feeling on their train of thought.

Some thought he played better last year and was improving, some thought he was an average player, some thought he was solid against the run and nothing special in regards to a pass rush.

One said he wouldn't necessarily help you on the field but wouldn't hurt you. One wanted to keep him for depth.

I will go zoom in on some game film but that was what they were saying...............

Thanks Cope

so just a little under the $13 million J. Hargrave just landed per year...........lol

I really like the Worm's active hands.... that is a great attribute especially against the shorter QBs populating the league nowadays.

To be fair this league pays for pass rushers and you won't mistake Worm with Hargrave at the end of the day. But the possibility of being an upgrade against the run is intriguing.

Here is one breakdown I watched.

Small sample size but pretty much goes with my way of thinking. An effort player not a star not a pass rush force but a try hard player who plays the run well....
