Blount Suspended For First Game For Cheech and Chong Incident

thats good if its us that they open vs on the 1st thursday of sept, with both 3/4 RB's not going to dress with Vreen @ Ridley gone and Blount in sweats they will only have a 1st or 2nd rnd rookie to team up with Gray.
 
I blame Chong for being a bad influence on Cheech
 
The speculation has been that Bell will get two games because it's a first offense although if Blunt got a game and he wasn't charged with anything (Bell was driving) then it wouldn't surprise me if he gets three or four games and James Harrison is fined $10,000.

With only a one game suspension for Blunt I mean Blount then it won't surprise me if Bell gets 3 or 4.
 
I can see Bell getting 4 games with Blount getting a game...they were both stupid..but I have to say it would not upset me if Bell got 4 games..is driving 4 times more stupid ? Sure in my book ..I think its in the new policy so it is what it is.

I thought the new policy was more lenient? Hell, I can't keep up with whether the new policy is today's policy or if they've changed the new policy into the super secret new policy. I mean technically Bell's infraction came before the new policy was announced. So, it would seem that his punishment would be under the old policy since they never said the new policy was retroactive. However, the courts have stated that Roger has the authority to basically ignore the policy if he finds extenuating circumstances. Which of course means he can just list some bullshit extenuating circumstances and impose whatever penalty he wants.

My guess is Godell says that smoking hours before a game is an extenuating circumstance. Whereupon he places Bell on the Commissioner's exempt list for 6 games so that the arbitrator and courts can decide the "real" punishment. Which will be 2 games, but Bell will have already been on the Exempt list for 4 games. [/semi-sarcasm]
 
We don't need no policy, goodell well just **** with the steelers and continue to help the cheats any way he can.

Agreed. Bell will be missed. He's very effective run / catch and block player. DeAngleo WIlliams will likely start the season for us.
 
Is this Blount's 2nd offense? Do priors count with the new agreement?
 
Bell also had a DUI in the incident along with the posession charge, So i'm thinking that Bell received a 1 game suspention for each infraction.

Well how about concurrent sentencing instead of consecutive sentencing, if it is good enough for the criminal courts it sure as hell should be for the NFL. Also was this not his first offense? Should it not carry a non suspension element as well? Rodger just go suck a donkey dick.

Looks like my assumption was incorrect, they gave him an additional suspension for the DUI.

Roger does what Roger wants and people let him do it. It's like watching Hillary Clinton do whatever she wants and gets away with it. SHe's untouchable, the same as ol' ROger.
