Last we heard about Ben was his next big checkup milestone was early February. Not sure the Steelers are going to release additional information about his recover during the offseason. If they do I would expect it to come later on during mini-camp or OTAs.
I think if there is going to be a delay then they gotta pick a vet up let the market dry up for Mariota or fitz both wont cost much and if a battle much better than duck.

I 100 percent agree we need a vet back up. There will be a handful out there that are much better then mason or the Duck
I will be hoping things go smoothly with Ben. I know In sports we are use to injuries and players coming back pretty much as good as ever. This one has me worried. I don’t think any of us really know how that arm will be and how it will hold up until that day comes. Until then I will be concerned. I’m hoping a tiger woods type recovery. Ben comes back as strong as ever. Maybe even stronger ( I doubt that ) but one can hope
all we need is a back up better than duck to push mason, duck needs a full year with a qb coach to see what if thrown into PT what type of throws he should make and figure what is his bread and butter, mason needs to work on accuracy and reading coverage a vet like Mariota who has no mkt val but several years experience as a starter and been to the playoffs never has a elite group of WR's or play makers it was also check down to Delaine Walker him vs Rudulph good be a good battle.
