Snell is the great-nephew of former New York Jets running back Matt Snell.
When the Steelers drafted Benny I was thrilled.
I was born in Beaver Falls, PA in 1951 and as a kid remember Joe Namath playing high school football.
Years later I remember when he won the Jets ONLY superbowl as QB. 16-6 Jets over the MUCH favored Colts.
Guess who his tough RB was? Matt Snell.
I think Snell had 121 yds and a TD against a vicious Baltimore Colts team.
This enabled Namath to T off in the passing game.
Benny has to protect the ball a little better but he is a straight ahead runner.
Big Ben has to love Benny's ability to force the D to respect the run.
Makes a BIG difference to the passing game.
