Bell signing with Chiefs

I hear KC has some great rap studios he can work in. Gots to get that other album/single to drop.

Bell needs a lot of skill around him at QB and WR to shine. The thing is is acceleration is gone. He's just a guy now.

I would say our superb OLine contributed greatly to his success. It all starts with the OLine.

He’s not going to be a workhorse. I don’t think he’ll see anything more than 12 snaps. He doesn’t need to shine. Just needs to do what is asked.

His age is working against him. This is a guy who had some knee injuries earlier in his career and RBs tend to regress as they age. The argument against signing him long term has never been clearer.

Bell may have lost a step, maybe not? That's yet to be seen. He is also playing with a better coach, better TE and better QB than he had in Pittsburgh.
You guys think you hate Bell now, wait until K.C. crushes the Steelers in the playoffs.

28 years old sounds like he is in his NFL prime but rest assured, with the work load he had with the STEELERS, he is OLD by NFL RB life. Definitely glad we never attempted a re-sign.

Trying to think of NFL backs who had a second life this late into their careers... OJ Anderson? Corey Dillon? Marcus Allen? Posssible, but I don’t know that Bell has the determination.

I don't think any back ever had a second wind with 3 years since their last great year.

Chefs just gave up 40 at home to the Raiders. Not sure why offense is their focus right now.

Adrian Peterson had 1,485 yards in 2016, combined for 601 yards (3.1 YPC) over the next three years, then bounced back with 1,042 yards in 2018--averaging 4.2 YPC from 2018-2020.

I initially thought about him, he wasn't clearly the same back as when he was at his peak though.

Peterson wasn't declining due to sitting around eating weed induced taco's on Jet ski's in Miami ,he was fighting through injuries and was an elite back at one time.I think he is an exception to a rule type......

Peterson also has speed and power. He could run over you or past you. Bell is slow for an RB, and I would not call him a power back. In 2001 Bettis had 9 20+ yrd runs which is pretty remarkable. Even in Bettis's last year (2005) he had one 20 yrd run and in 2004 had 3 20+ yrd runs. Bell has patience and can hit the hole, but any loss of quickness or a sub par line is a death sentence for his style. KC is probably the best case scenario for Bell to succeed. If he cant make it there he will be out of the league.

I also thought I read he gets 1 mil pro-rated to this season with oppertunity to earn an additional 1 mil in incentives. PRETTY cheap and NOT quite setting the RB slide scale on pay. I also realize he gets his pay from the Jets as well.

Just glad he isn't ours

He hasn't really played much in the last three years. That's an eternity.

Even funnier is that none of that is really additional money. It's just money that the Jets won't have to pay him because the Chiefs are taking on the responsibility. So, he's still only going to make the $6M that NYJ guaranteed him.

I hear yaz Ron but that inactivity adds to the age as well. Hard to get back hard once you've gone soft............

That's what I'm saying. He didn't just lose a step, he's lost two or three steps.

Conner reads the forum and was not impressed with all of y'all calling for Bell to be brought back. lol
