I think Sam Acho the former Cardinal OLB would be a solid signing. He had a nice rookie season when he was drafted in the 4'th round out of Texas and recorded 7 sacks, 40 tackles and 4 forced fumbles. Hell we all would have been elated had Uncle Jarvis turned in a rookie performance like that. Tombert are somewhat familiar with him since they scouted him and I believe attended his workout prior to the draft. He also worked under Ray Horton who was the Cards Defensive Coordinator so I think he may fit in quickly.

I'm not saying they ARE bringing him in but that they SHOULD bring him in. Hell, it would be a pretty inexpensive signing which could reap a high reward if someone like Joey can get him back on his game like his rookie year.

Now he did tail off in 2012 and went on IR early in 2013 and 2014 was a reduced role as a backup but why not bring him in and check him out? If anyone can get the best out of him its Joey and for the right price this could harvest a big reward. Just sayin'.

Bring him on. He'd be cheap and bring competition

Hey, why not? I'd also sign Harrison now before somebody swoops in to get him.

I think Harrison already has a deal under the table with the team

ROFLMAO ... I mentioned Acho and Ayers (gone) in another thread to great big YAWNS. Fact of the matter is that the Steelers were never going to bring in one of the BIG names. Not Colbert's M.O. Acho would be cheap. He's young. He's had some starting experience. And given his last two years, he wouldn't come in with an ego, but would probably feel he has something to prove. A typical Steelers FA signing in other words.

Exactly my point! What the hell do they have to lose at this point? Nothing! The rewards I think far outweigh the risk.

Do Something Colbert, if this draft does not yield immediate results your *** should be canned.

I look forward to this year linebacker who looks like a mid sized punter

Colbert better hope Dupree or Harold are there at 22, Dupree will, but Dupree can play DE and LOLB which would make a easy fit in Butler's system. I wan't Tomlin to be more involved in the D with Butler ala run some tampa 2 in the nickel
DE Kruger/rookie DT Heyward DT Mclendon DE Tuitt WLB Spence MLB Shazier SLB Timmons

And what exactly is Butler's system? Most likely 99% of what DL's defense was/is.

By all indications it does not look good for Bud Dupree being there at 22. He really helped himself at the combine. They said the rush would be improved this year but so far don't see any moves to substantiate that promise.

I guess I would have no problem with it...the only question in my mind...why didn't the Cards offer him something? They would rather sign an obviously broken down Woodley than him...raises some questions to me.

Possibly. I'm not familiar with the Cards or their FO but we can't be the only team with a moron for a GM.

maybe not the only but I'm sure the biggest...so I have read anyway..

Acho regressed big time last year in AZ. He couldn't get off blocks and had even more problems vs the run. Got replaced in the situational packages he was in the previous year that garnered him 7+ sacks. I think he had only 2 sacks last year in 300 snaps. Which is why he wasn't offered a contract in AZ. Maybe some of these 2nd/3rd tier guys have something that are scaring teams. I mean Jermaine Gresham I just heard requires serious neck surgery. WTH?......never heard he was that much of damaged goods. So possibly GMs/teams know more than we do.

I do know there will be more FA become available after the draft....so maybe that's the plan.
